Now that I have completed my track plan for a large layout some 14.5 x 4.5 metres in size I would like to get it printed out full size on rolls of paper using a local printer. I took the whole computer down to the printer and showed him the program and plan to print. He decided to make a PDF so he could export it to his large format Ink Jet Printer using the OUTPUT - EXPORT A FILE (PDF DXF etc.)- Export a File box and Create PDF He followed the instructions but was unable to get Templot to produce a PDF it said it was doing it and put the PDF Ikon on the desktop as requested but when we opened the file it was a blank page. Could anyone give us some guidance on what we are doing wrong or if we are going about it in the right way. |

Hi, I seem to remember there was a limit on how many pages you could print at one go |

Paul, AS above, there is a physical limit to the size of pdf that Templot's own generator can produce. You're probably restricted to @5m x 1m in full colour. Ian |

In the past martin has warned of the limitations of Adobe Reader, was it file size or number of pages or size of pages? My brain can't remember which. Cheers for now John from 33820 St ciers sur Gironde |

Hello, Some PDF files can take an age to load up before becoming visible. The size of yours could be a factor. Trevor. |

Hi Paul, Went through this a couple of years ago. Martin did explain. Adobe will not recognise a PDF over 5 metres. He recommended a different reader, but your print supplier may not want to use something different. Printed 36' x 5' plan in four sections. Last ref in Templot talk under "Invisible PDF" 6 Feb 2012. Hope this helps, Matt M. |

Hi Paul, At the time Martin recommended Foxit Reader or Nitro Reader, both of which are free downloads. Martin's choice was Nitro. See Templot talk "Adobe shows blank PDF" 26th Jan 2012. Matt M. |
