Hi All, I have a diamond crossing to wire up for cab control and I have forgotten the way to do it, any help please. If it makes a difference the diamond forms part of a sort of half scissors. Thanks Phil. |

If it is all one section (or DCC), as it probably is as a half-scissors, it's easy: 1. both the the V-crossings need to be isolated from the surrounding rails in the usual way. 2. the K-crossings don't. They are connected to the traction feed and common-return respectively. 3. the V-crossings are polarity switched by connecting them directly to the V-crossings on the connected turnouts at the opposite end. If the diamond-crossing tracks are on two separate sections, it gets more involved. cheers, Martin. |

Hi Phil, I've made a quick sketch for a half-scissors: 2_201422_250000000.png It needs an interlock on the operation of the turnouts. Such as a 3-way switch for point motors, or a physical lock in the lever frame. cheers, Martin. |

Hi Martin The layout is DC, I can put in sections to suit, I was currently thinking along the lines of the diamond being a stand alone section, but I'm open to all suggestions, I'm just having a senior moment and can't get my head around it. I have attached the box file. Thanks Phil |

Hi Phil, Posts crossed. Thanks for the file. I think my sketch covers the situation, despite being upside down for your plan! It can be all one section the same as the running line. If you want separate sections for the sidings, it just needs some breaks in the feed side (red) beyond the diamond. Or not, if your common-return is the red side. cheers, Martin. |

Hi Martin, Thanks very much, as soon as I saw it, it clicked. I am planning on using servos and I can use a double pole switch one half for each servo connected to the opposite pole so that one is on and reversed and the other normal. Thanks again. Phil. |
