... your entire graphics memory. I'm surprised you haven't had more trouble with such a big file. I would strongly recommend that you close all other significant applications before loading such a file into Templot. Especially Microsoft applications such as Internet Explorer and Word. A better solution would be to split this file into sections, and have say 15 picture shapes in a 5 x 3 grid, each 3678 x 2667. They will still be 28MB each, which I would normally regard as large, and each approximately equivalent to scanning a full A4 page at 300dpi. Then load the image only for the section on which you are working, or maybe a few adjacent sections. The panning and zooming speeds will be very much improved. For the other picture shapes at present you can click the picture content:> reload button and temporarily load a small place-holder image. In 091c you could clear a picture shape by clicking cancel on the reload dialog, but that was non-intuitive and I have now changed it. Instead I will add a clear button ...

If I then do main> undo clear/ reload :: OK, the storage box then contains 129 templates, the last being blank. If I use the previous button on the storage box window it jumps to 127 of 128; and 129 has gone. (And if I press next or last, 129 disappears, and I'm set on template 128) If I just set focus to the window- without pressing the previous button, it correctly displays 128 templates. Richard PS: Great feature, BTW, I thought I'd saved some work, and reloaded the last version (after playing about with undo/redo), and lost a load of stuff, but I didn't :- D thanks to that! A simple solution might be to stop Templot accepting key presses until that "Templot will be starting soon" box has finished! Hi Paul, It's not quite that simple. The Enters are not going to Templot, but to Windows which then launches further instances of Templot because the shortcut icon still has focus. Then with further Enters in the message stream, each instance tries to connect to the internet at the same time. The result is chaos. (The multiple instances warning wasn't working in 205b.) I have made some changes in the new 205c version which mean it should be safe to hold down the Enter key once the GO buttons are showing. But there is not much I can do about matters before that stage. Can I suggest that you wait a second or two before hitting Enter? Indeed there are ...

Since there is nothing in Templot which changes according to whether the printer is a laser or an inkjet, or indeed when the output is to any other device context, the only possible conclusion is that this problem is external to Templot. I don't like admitting defeat, but unless I'm missing something obvious the only thing we can do is wait and see if anyone else reports anything similar. If anyone reading this is using an A4 laser printer and would care to repeat the experiment, it would be good to have your results. ... sketchboard. That's the downside of working with a development version. First of all, the blue numbers on the extreme left in your first screenshot are the underlying grid labels on the workpad, they are not part of the sketchboard window. You may find it helpful to move the sketchboard window away from them or maximize it to full screen to hide them. The yellow rulers top and left show the sketchboard page size in mm. I have set the default size to 260mm x 180mm to fit easily on a single sheet of A4 paper. If you print out the sketchboard this is the size which it should print at. You can change the page size to whatever you want to suit your printer -- on the sketchboard control panel click the page tab and then set the dimensions. You can also have an additional grid system based on these yellow page dimensions if you wish -- on the page tab set the guide lines options. When there is no trackplan on the sketchboard these yellow dimensions are the only dimensions available, and most of the ...

For my own project I printed just over 50 pages on photocopy card (160 gsm) and then trimmed and pasted to my baseboards. The card is easier to work with than ordinary paper and does not wrinkle when pasted with PVA glue. If a page goes wrong, you can simply print another. Regards. ... topic: 1733 Other TDV Use posted: 18 Dec 2011 23:58 from: Jim Guthrie I've just got a new use for the TDV which might help others out. I got a very large .GIF file of a station building plan from the Caledonian Railway archive. I much prefer working from paper plans and I looked at some way of printing it out- like using PaintShopPro or Gimp to split the file into individual bits to print on A4 or A3 paper. But it would have been difficult to get the printing scale on each printed sheet. Then I thought about the TDV, converted the .GIF to .PNG and imported the file as an image, adjusted it to be about A1 size, put a couple of plain track templates across it with rails and timbers turned off, then printed out to A3 PDF, printed the lot out on A3 paper, and joined them all together. I've now got my A1 drawing. Jim. Parts of Templot Club may not function unless you enable JavaScript (also called Active Scripting) in your browser ...

... and contrary to what I said earlier, this appears to really be a turntable, although it is said that it was never used to turn a loco. Although it looks like a turntable, it was really a centre-pivoted sector plate. Or alternatively, a turntable with a restricted swing! If they had turned locos at Bembridge, then when they got back to Brading, they might have noticed the absence of a turntable there! Ventnor was similarly operated: I have seen at least one photo, probably in the A4 (or so) sized photo album produced by OPC. The table there was almost certainly too short for the O2s, etc, and replacing it with P&C was probably a simpler option. You might want to try this link for an image, at least of the fence around it and the tracks radiating from it. posted: 13 Jan 2012 09:49 from: LSWRArt Hi Simon Thanks for that very interesting photo. ... be, I have used 50mm which is a tad too narrow. Hi John, Does this look any better? 2_200722_330000000.png I'm not entirely sure that 00-SF is a good idea for this in view of the sharp curves. At 1.0mm flangeway you would be modelling S7 narrow gauge and for that you would need to work to S7 wheel profiles and tolerances. 00 gauge commercial wheels and back-to-backs may not be suitable for 16.2mm gauge at these radii.
