... what to do about it. As well Templot's innate learning curve is complicated by a need to understand the real permanent way. This adds to the confusion for some, and as we are all aware the information is scattered and at times hard to locate. Further problems arise with different terminology and practice between railway companies in the same period and country, let alone different periods and countries. Martin, I did your introductory Templot track plan tutorial sequence for version 0.74b several times till I "got it". I had it printed out, which is just a preference of mine, and repeated it until I was fluent. That gave me a reasonable grasp of the basics. I have also done a number of your video tutorials as well. These were exceedingly easy to follow and get an immediate result. Immediate results are good as they encourage one move on. This is the sort of thing that works. I have watched the push for indexing of the club pages with interest as there is a ton of information there. This is definitely a ...

... topic: 3156 Printer maintenance for templates posted: 14 Dec 2017 15:55 from: Martin Wynne I have just been printing some templates, and noticed the rail lines were looking a bit wobbly. So I assumed my printer was wearing out. But I thought it worth trying some of the built-in maintenance functions, such as "roller cleaning". I have never used that one before in the several years I have been using the printer. In fact I had forgotten such a function was available. Result! Rails now smooth lines again. So next time you do some printing, a bit of "roller cleaning" first might work wonders. Especially before doing a printer calibration. It is referenced to the rail top, so that the printed output can be used as a construction template. In other words, the length of a turnout is the same regardless of whether it will be laid horizontal or on a gradient. For a 3D representation it would need to be shortened in the 2D plan view if laid on a gradient, like this (gradient greatly exaggerated for clarity): 2_110741_270000000.png Which would obviously make the 2D plan view useless for track construction (but correct for baseboard construction). Excellent roller gauges are available from Debs of this parish. If you decide to change, do not use this template, ask me to create one for 0-MF.
