I had taken a pocket ruler with me to measure the "test" sheet and it was spot-on, as were the long prints when I collected those this morning. ... a red cirlce in the attached screenshot which I cannot bridge. It is a crossover from straight to curved track. My problem is that I want to insert a curved turnout with it's curvature oriented at the track's curve (If you know what I mean). It seems that the inserted turnout in the curved track has an opposite curvature. ... quicker way might be to shove a dummy timber on the track template: 1. add a bonus timber. 2. move it along by mouse action to where you want it. 3. keep clicking the narrow button until it is a thin line. 4. use the length and throw mouse actions to extend it to your requirements. But don't change the template afterwards, this line will be part of the template. It will of course print in the timber colours. Nowadays a standard size is used and the radius is adjusted in each leg of the closure rail to get a fit. ... whatever, and one of them is a very short fill-in, the joints don't roll across the short length properly. What seems to happen is that if the rolled-in length is longer than the template, ie the template is too short to contain any rail-joints, it is ignored; consequently the next template along has no information about how much to "roll-in" so it starts again, leaving you with an odd length in the middle. ... Personally, I would not be keen on cutting the rail- such things introduce a weakness which I find can then present issues. I do see a lot of track where the wing rail and closure rails have been made separately and where the alignment is obviously poor at the resulting joint- and it is a bad fault because it throws the wheels just on the approach to the crossing leading to very poor running. I attach a drawing of my track plan that is based on the prototype. I draw this track plan using Adobe illustrator I have a lot of queries regarding drawing in Templot.
