The outside-slip design allows for a shorter crossing angle at the same radius, for cramped station throats. Or an easier radius for higher speed in running lines. I did some digging about 3 years ago after hearing about some SSD failures, and it appeared that the cheaper SSDs could fail after a couple of years, and that if one wanted longlevity then one needed to fork out for server-grade SSDs. Even then life wasn't guaranteed. If I get around to building a new PC it's certainly something I'd look at, but don't know which way I'd jump. ... point don't usually have a constant radius, they appear to be like railway points with A,B ,C etc switches so they don't go from straight to curve with no transition. Maybe try an A-4 with curviform vee then a transition curve to a sharper radius. The usual turning circle for a typical bus is about 56', 244mm.
