Preferably user assembled but if that is not possible I could suggest a few operations to include. Hi Alan, It's possible but there are several thorny issues. 1. Choosing what to include. A user-customised toolpad would be great, but a lot of work -- not in the functionality but in devising the user interface to set it up. 2. If you have a subset of common functions, some users may tend to use it exclusively and eventually forget that there are many other functions available, or never find them in the first place. 3. There might be a fair few devils in the detail of your plan in that some of the track might not be buildable- just to take one one of the three ways in the throat- the switches of one road overlap the crossing of the other. This kind of problem of course is MUCH worse in 00 than in nearer-scale guages- even formations which would fit in the prototype cannot be built in the model. 1129_090455_280000000.png The worry is that you might not uncover all of these until you get deep into the detail of partial templates, ...

For NER/LNER you have probably got 4 or 5 too many long timbers, it is more likely that the plain track sleepers would be interlaced between the normal length timbers. A lot depends on the location and traffic. If this double track is part of the fast ECML, square-on apart from the middle section of the slip, and plenty of long timbers. If it's goods lines, loops, or in a yard, equalized and very few long timbers. cheers, Martin. posted: 17 Apr 2018 22:50 from: johndon Cheers Martin, it's part of the east end of Newcastle Central Station so I'll go with equalized and few long timers. Yet not so many years ago I was told elsewhere that the knuckle bend should be as crisp as possible, aided with a nick filed on the other side of the rail. My understanding of this area has developed, maybe that holds true for others too. I imagine the consensus would be that the model will work better (as well as look better) by following the prototype practice- or at least, there is no need to follow old modelling myths. Now I'm making a diamond and wonder about a similar issue at the centre of it, where the stock rail and check rail curve to form the angle of the obtuse crossing. It seems that on the prototype these rails curved quite gently ...

It's the same as the first ever release version, but doesn't need a release code. Being a free demo for what was then a paid-for product, it won't save files or print templates (other than a demo print). It's the original exe file, not recompiled. Surprisingly it runs ok on Windows 10, with a few obvious glitches. Most of the windows need dragging a bit larger. But it's painful to use, you won't want to do much with it. At start-up for some reason it displays a blank panel. Click the small dotted rectangle. If there is any interest, I will try to get a slightly later version recompiled and posted. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE everyone, don't share this with anyone. It's over 20 years old! It is NOT a demo of the current Templot2 program! cheers, Martin ...

The vast majority of users now download the program -- most folks are now on broadband and it takes only a few seconds. Even on slow dial-up it takes less than 5 minutes. Another question -- if I adopted a USB memory stick instead of a CD as the delivery method (such memory sticks are now inexpensive), would it, and the stored data, survive airmail security checks? In the short term this is mainly to help those who need irregular diamonds to progress their layouts. But also I'm hoping that feedback from members of a "development group" will be a valuable help in filling the gaps. Unlike some software support forums, I very much do not want to create a "them and us" situation in Templot Club where a few members have access to "beta" versions and the majority don't. So this will be available to all members of Templot Club who want it.
