... : 2868 New crop/combine functions for picture shapes posted: 7 Apr 2016 21:26 from: Martin Wynne I mentioned before that I have been working on a new cropping function for the background picture shapes. I have now extended this to include the combining of several picture shapes into a single picture shape. Here for example are 3 separate screen captures from a 1:500 online map. I have aligned them to cover the required area. And over the top of them I have added a rectangle shape, and adjusted it to contain the area of interest: 2_071530_100000003.png After using the new crop/combine function, this is the result. A new picture shape is created within the rectangle containing parts of all 3 original images: 2_071530_100000002.png After which the original picture shapes can be deleted. And I then have a single picture shape which can be moved (shifted), rotated (twisted) and scaled as required. Here I have turned it 90 degrees for easier working on the trackpad: 2_071530_090000001.png If the rectangle is drawn over a single ...

For 40 years I've been deciding this sort of thing myself without reference to anyone else. It takes a bit of getting used to, and it is also quite time-consuming to write it all down like this and wait for responses. Not to mention the idiots like me who seemingly want to disagree about everything! Yes, it must take some adjustment. A curse and a blessing? I am sure you are already seeing the curse of it. It has proved extremely difficult to test this function, to be sure all possible template settings are properly transferred -- there are over 450 of them for each template, and more if any timbers are shoved. Could you please therefore try exporting and re-importing some MECBOX files? And report any discrepancies you find. Ideally with a mixture of all sorts of exotic custom settings and adjustments to the templates, and lots of shoved timbers. Many thanks. The PDF engine licence does not allow me to publish any of the licensed stuff. It is essentially a copy of print_unit with the Printer.Canvas changed to PDF.Canvas. It could have been the same unit for both, but there were a few details which needed to be different -- for example there is no calibration function for the PDF, ink intensity adjustment, banner option, support for ink-jet impact printers, etc. The existing PDF engine is: http://www.wpcubed.com/pdf/products/wpdf/ for which I purchased the DCU option. So any open-source replacement needs to offer the same functionality: "With wPDF there is also a native canvas property of the type TCanvas. This also contains the property handle of type HDC. The head of the rail should be curved to a (slightly) larger radius than the foot to counteract the effects of the inclination- make the curve conical rather than cylindrical. In 7mm scale I use a set of 150mm GW Models rollers to curve rail (even knuckles and check rail flares). Adjusting one end of the top roller to be 2mm higher than the other gives the correct amount of coning to the curve -- you just have to put the rail through the roller the correct way otherwise you make the problem worse; been there, done that! ... , Welcome to Templot Club. I'm not sure what you are asking for. You seem to have achieved the classic trailing slip crossover connection to a yard, all on a nice gentle curve. It's very likely that most such prototypes would be exactly like that. Which part do you want to be straight? The diverging road of a turnout can never be dead straight, you will always have the switch deflection angle from the main road, with the corresponding set in the stock rail. But you can get quite close by adjusting the V-crossing angle and the contraflexure radius in the main road. If you mean you want the road across the diamond to be straight beyond the turnout, that can be done by creating an irregular diamond-crossing. Use tools> make branch track on the turnout, and then change it to straight. You can then do peg/align tools> make diamond-crossing at intersection, and add the slip roads in the usual way. There are several new features in 214a, but for established users the most useful will probably be the new extend/shorten the control template to meet function. I created this mainly to make the make transition function less tedious to use, but I have since found it very handy in other cases too. It is no longer necessary to swap peg ends and carefully adjust manually the new transition template length to the required template boundaries. Templot can now do it for you. The ancient make transition tutorial can now be deleted, and replaced with this new one at: http://templot.com/companion/link_existing.html which explains both functions. For this tutorial I have reverted to a static text tutorial with screenshots, instead of interactive video. It was intended to be quicker to do, but I'm not sure that it was in the end.
