... topic: 3572 Problem with 225b posted: 10 Dec 2019 17:39 from: stuart1600 I seem to have a problem when I download the latest version of Templot. It downloads OK and works fine, as does everything else on my PC (Windows 7); but when I try to switch the computer on next time the OS hangs up. I have to go into Safe Mode and then do a recovery to the point before I downloaded Templot 225b. I can't recall ever having a problem of this type before, and if I stick with 225a there is no problem. In truth this is not a big issue- for the moment I can stick to 225a, and in January I'll be getting a new PC(Windows 10 obviously) and will download Templot directly to that and hope that that is OK. But I thought I ought to flag this up in case there is an issue that needs attention; although as nobody else has raised this it does look like some peculiarity with my PC. But puzzling that it has never ...

The yellow scales top and left show the actual printed page size. In this example the area is 260mm wide by 180mm high, i.e. an easy fit on A4 or US Letter paper in landscape format. The blue scales bottom and right show the actual model size, matching the pad scales. By comparing scales you can see that the track plan was output (in diagram mode) at 10% of full size. Note that the yellow vertical scale originates from top left, in the usual way for printed matter. Whereas the blue scale originates from bottom left in the usual engineering style (matching the grid on the pad). What, if anything, I could or should do about this anomaly has had me scratching my head a lot recently. Templot Sketchbook is based around a component developed by Nils Haeck in the Netherlands. ... topic: 3713 Masokits etched chairs for turnouts posted: 5 Jul 2020 10:08 from: Julian Roberts Hello folks Is there anyone who is using Masokits etched chairs for turnouts and diamonds? How do you find the system as a way of construction? I would prefer to go along the route of soldered construction on copperclad sleepers, rather than ply and rivet, or ply/plastic sleepers using glue and plastic chairs, even though I know the plastic chairs give a good quality of realism. The latest Masokits catalogue (No 19) hosted by the Scalefour Society refers to point kits, but doesn't then list any. The option seems to be a fret of 2 bolt chairs, and a fret of 3 bolt chairs, for pointwork. I'm now showing my ignorance, that I don't know much about chairs beyond the fact that there are special chairs for certain parts of the turnout. The catalogue also lists a fret of tiebars, so if anyone uses these, do you find they work for you? I had a Search of Templot Club ...
