I have just looked at the resulting sheets and find that parts of the print are cut off. Now I assume that Templot& deskPDF would have printed to the PDF file the a plan that *should* have successfully printed exactly the same on paper but just wanted to check before I go yell at the printing house, $31.00 for 7 A0 sheets will get expensive if I have to keep trying.... ... topic: 967 Two questions regarding two design concerns posted: 1 Nov 2009 02:52 from: William Adkins As I work through my layout design I've encountered two issues for which I could use advice: 1. I would like to make a right hand curved turnout. The outer radius would approximate 32" while the diverging radius would be 30". Is there a way to set each track's radius and then have Templot calculate the appropriate frog ratio, i.e. 1:10, 1:12, etc. for a defined scale and gauge? 2. Is there such a thing as an asymetrical wye turnout? As an example, a right hand diverging track at 32" radius and a left hand diverging radius of 30". If so, how would one create such a template using Templot? Thank you in advance for your help. Bill posted: 1 Nov 2009 03:28 from: Martin Wynne William Adkins wrote: 1. Hi Richard, I'm puzzled by this. The REA designs for bullhead V-crossings show check rails spanning 4 timbers on V-crossings shorter than 1:6 and spanning 5 timbers for 1:6 to 1:10 inclusive. There is no bullhead design where the check rail spans only 3 timbers. Templot doesn't draw any as short as that unless you specifically change the settings to make them so. It would be wise to change them, not simply because they are wrong, but because they may not be long enough to function correctly as check rails.
