In fact not quite wide enough if you allow for the corner radius on the rail and a chamfer between the face of the wheel and the tread. If you use exact scale wheels you need to make sure not to exceed the specified flangeway gap just in front of the nose of the vee. Here's some stuff I have posted on RMweb a few times:____ The knuckles should be radiused, the knuckle gap being wider than the crossing flangeway gap. Here's a diagram which may help when setting the wing rail knuckles: 2_220535_490000000.png The blue infill shows the theoretical ideal with a sharp bend at K exactly matching the angle of the vee and in line with it. ... conditions are met. These conditions are not arbitrary limitations imposed by Templot, they result from the mathematics of a clothoid curve (Euler's Spiral): 1. the templates must not be concentric (parallel). So for example it is not possible to create a transition between the inner and outer tracks in curved double track. Use a slew for that instead, or a simple link. 2. in a C-curve transition there must be a significant difference in radius between the two templates. Significant means more than a few mm. Otherwise you will get at best a wiggly transition curve, or at worst the infamous "matchsticks and broken glass" effect across the entire screen. (For S-curve transitions the radii can be equal.) This also means that it is not possible to create a transition curve between two straight templates. Only one of them can be straight. Insert a third curved template between them, and make two transition links to/from it. 3. most important, the two curves must not intersect ( ...

Knowing the way Microsoft change file formats while no-one is looking, I need a test RTF file created with the latest version of Word. If anyone has an up-to-date version of Word, I would be grateful if you could create a small test file and save it in RTF format (not DOC). In the past (it was discussed on this site) I had a gauge narrowing incident when using a new Alan Gibson (the same would go for most makes) 3 point gauge when making a P4 turnout. I have added a new peg position at peg on split deflection: 2_281934_280000000.png This puts the peg on the TP switch toe position (CTRL-2) but at half the switch deflection angle. Which makes it easy to peg an irregular half-diamond onto a bit of plain track to create a switch front. The result is that I was able to create this with just a few clicks, and no timber shoving needed. In most cases you will want to set the V-crossing to curviform for a symmetrical result. In practice in many track planning situations there would be no need to create a separate switch front, it could be pegged directly onto an existing approach track. Then rolling the rails to put the switch-front rail joints in the right place. It's not a perfect solution, because being a half-diamond template some turnout functions are not available. The exe is incredibly frugal on hdd space and memory usage; considering the level of functionality it's surprising how small it is. Hi Derek, The compiler is currently showing 349,449 lines of code. That's a fairly meaningless number, because it depends whether you write a few long lines or lots of short ones. I will do a bit of delving and see if I can find the number of statements. I don't recall ever seeing such a figure in the compiler stats, but it should be in there somewhere. The small size of the exe file is for two reasons mainly: 1. I don't use any Microsoft tools to create it. 2. It uses only the Windows Common Controls and traditional plain menus -- that's why it runs well on Linux/ Wine/ CrossOver. ...
