... : Paul Boyd Hi Dave But what am I supposed to do? Change ISP's? Unlikely. To be quite frank, if my ISP was blocking legitimate emails without my consent or knowledge, I would be changing without a moment's hesitation. How many other legit emails have you missed? The following applies to windows XP, the only experience I have with windows 7 is that there are problems obtaining a driver to use with this printer. Download the printer driver attached below. Although it is labelled dj1075, it is intended for the HP DJ1220C printer which is compatible with the DJ1280. You will need to copy the file to the directory/ folder from which it is to run, I created a "printer files" folder in the program files folder and copied it into that. When you run the dj1075en.exe file, it will create a DJ1220C folder containing all the printer driver files. You will next need to run the add printer wizard and choose the HP 1220 ...

I have designed by LSWR Branch terminius with the add of a .box file I downloaded with contained Templot templates for LSWR Type 1 Turnouts. (I cannot remember exactly where I downloaded this from) These have been constructed using custom settings and do allow changing the crossing (1 :6 1:7 etc, but not the planning (A B etc) If anyone is familiar with this .box file could they advise as the planing setting? It looks like it is a A Or what planning is a LSWR Series 1? Alternatively, how do I discover the planning setting from the custom settings? I may use the new C& L Timber Tracks (they do a LSWR B7) so I need to confirm and maybe modify my plan before construction. ... topic: 1655 Admin -- Web site problems posted: 16 Oct 2011 13:01 from: Martin Wynne Dear all, Apologies for the slow page response times on Templot Club at present. The problems are caused by congestion at the hosting provider. Jim has been expanding his hosting company and now unfortunately finds himself with more hosting commitments than his internet link can easily handle. This is always a gamble, because the only way it makes economic sense is to assume that not all of your customers will want to connect at exactly the same instant. Specifically, some customers which were formerly on leased servers elsewhere have now been brought in-house, some existing customers have been extremely successful and needed extra web capacity, and earlier this year Jim acquired another small hosting company and transferred their customers to his own servers. Jim is apologetic about this, part of the problem is that some faulty equipment (now replaced) failed to record traffic peaks accurately and he was unaware of the true situation developing. Some relief may be possible in the short ...

One other issue: Templot won't quit for me! I have to end the process in task manager. Neither issue is critical. And one question: Is there a way of deleting custom switches (something that's also very useful in simulating tram track)? System is XP SP2. Then enter the full length of the layout and its width, or the printable width on the paper. Then select custom in the list of paper sizes instead of A0. I would expect that the example of web hosting falls under the provision of services, rather than goods, in which case there is a specific exemption from the right to cancel if the provision of the services has commenced before the end of the usual cancellation period (as long as the supplier has provided all of the necessary information in advance). I suspect you would be better off claiming an exclusion from the DSR on the basis that Templot is computer software that the customer has unsealed (which has a specific exemption), or that you are actually providing a service rather than physical goods, which the OFT's guide( http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf section 3.39) suggests would be the case for downloads of electronic books or music- so maybe software delivered electronically should also fall into this category. ... important anyhow, as the peg is on the FP and we don't really care what happens to the switch. Hi Richard, If you don't lock the switch when using F5 you will get sudden step changes in the turnout radius through curviform V-crossings, when Templot jumps to the next most appropriate switch size for the crossing angle. This may not affect the final result, but it can be very irritating if you are in the middle of a fine close-up adjustment. Note that such jumping doesn't happen for a custom switch, so an alternative to locking the switch is to use a custom switch on the template. This also lets you adjust the switch heel angle to fine-tune the turnout radius, but repeated iterations can be very tedious. All this changes in the next Pug -- if I ever get it finished. A gaunt turnout (which doesn't have a switch) will be available for such partial V-crossing templates, and F9 will allow a V-crossing angle to be adjusted without any effect on the switch ...

You may want to create a custom paper size in Windows, which may (or may not) show up in the paper size list in your PDF driver. In Windows a paper size is called a "form". You can create named custom forms: From the taskbar go to Start> Control Panel> Printers and Faxes. Click the File> Server Properties menu item. Tick the Create a form box. Please see the attached PDF for the prototype info. I started off with a generic american template that I found on this forum and tried to modify it. I start off by having the generic template active and pick slot 8 for the remake. I answer yes, adopt the switch from the control template for slot 8. Then I press custom again and enter new or modified data. I name the new turnout: Conrail #8 16'-6" switch for bolted 119lb rail (1979 drawings) Next question is the type of switch, thats easy, its a straight switch. Next is the lead length to heel. This is explained as: "This is the distance from the tip of the blade (switch rail) to the point known as the "heel". This point is used in the calculation of the turnout radius." That ...

... get tired of hearing about programs not behaving like Windows but I feel that it is an important issue. The subject is marketing. If one wants to increase product sales one must conform to the prevailing standards. For example, Microsoft controlled the PC market for 30 years and got 90% market share. It left Apple in the dust because Apple refused to go along. Granted the tables have now turned but that doesn't mean the principal is wrong. One can remain a niche player or go with the flow and get more customers. A manufacturer can not be arrogant and assume his product is so amazing that customers will flock to it in spite of the difficult learning curve. Same thing with automobiles. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to sell a car if it required a whole new way to drive? Right now I can sit down in any car world-wide and within a few minutes be able to drive it. The PDF Reader programs deal with this by means of page scaling "fit to page", shrinking the PDF page to fit within the printable area. Unfortunately that upsets the correct scale of printed templates, so you need to set page scaling to "none" when printing templates, with the result you found -- part of the image overlaps beyond the printable area. The solution is to create a custom paper size which will fit within the printable area -- in this case say 35" x 46" to fit comfortably on the printable area within 36" x 48". You can then select this custom size as the paper size when generating the PDF file.
