For your intended shunting operations you will surely need a run-round facility somewhere on-scene? Two were used in a double crossover when the track centres were 11'8", if the spacing was a little greater then only one was used (the other side had 2 Vs and a K) and if the tracks were widely spaced then no deltas were used.
