I have tried both docx (not sure if that is an acceptable format) and .pdf i do not think the problem is my upload speed, as i can email the document to myself and that went out and came back quickly and without problems. ... the moment you have as you say got the crossing superimposed on the stock rail and it is perfectly possible to print the template and construct it from this, however it may not be so easy to see exactly where the tip of the crossing nose comes. Using partial templates one can remove the stock rails for the crossing areas. Give me a while and I will show you what I mean. Can the startup be made more intelligent so that if you run up by opening a saved .box file it does not prompt you to load the previous session etc? From a user point of view the decision has already been made what file is required, any further prompts should be unnecessary? Oh and the total timbering seems to be working okay, Fourgig East came out at a shade over 33m of timbering which equates to approx 5 packs of Marcway pcb. My original estimates were 3 packs of 6mm and 1 pack of 7mm. Just a small additional point regarding rail cleanliness- on my last layout, I used the Relco electronic rail cleaners- these use a high frequency AC current to "wet" the contact between rail and wheel and I found them excellent- the rails might look dirty but the trains keep running! ... what impressed me most was the lengths to which some people were prepared to go to to produce realistic track, after all how many of us have access to a spark eroding machine and the knowledge of how to use it. I have a fairly old version of Templot, purchased ions ago when I was using Win98SE, so I think I'd need an updated version for that, if the street track option is available. I have Wine installed, but I don't know if I can get Templot to work on my Linux machine (I'm aware others have succeeded though). No immediate plans to use it though, so no pressure on that.
