... ", you should find more info, but basically it means that the turnout lead lengths will change from the plan. On a small layout, this may be manageable, but on one of this complexity I think you'll find that things start going adrift much sooner. I hate to say it, but I think you need to re-do it all in EM gauge so that you don't start finding problems when you're cutting rail- it's much better to find problems on the computer screen first! Incidentally, you forgot to include the bitmap with the BGS, so there's a big "empty picture" where bitmap should be! The BGS doesn't include the bitmap- it just provides the detail of how it should be displayed. Cheers posted: 1 Aug 2010 15:29 from: geoff Paul Boyd wrote: Hi Geoff. Do you mean the print pages preview page on the screen, or the printed page map on paper (printed when you click the print page map button on the pages dialog)? At present the background shapes can be included on both, but you may need to click the output> output preview options> show background shapes menu option. Admittedly on the printed page map they are in thin faint lines which may be obscured by the page outlines and page numbers. Likewise any sketchboard items can show on the screen preview (but not on the printed page map). At present there is no option to include the grid lines directly on the preview, but you can achieve that by including the sketchboard trackplan item. On the sketchboard control panel ...

The special LOW-MEMORY mode will be used instead. (Or try restarting Templot with no other applications running.) I'm removing some of the legacy features which are now out-of-date on modern computers, and wondering if this is one of them. But I don't want to remove stuff which anyone is still using. Likewise I would be interested to know how many are still using 256-colour (8 -bit palette) screens? Or 640 x 480 screen resolution? Templot includes a lot of code to deal with such things, and the very first release would run happily on such systems. I wouldn't ...

For example, I have now tried building it in sections (switch, closure, crossing- all rails separate as per the prototype, where appropriate) and now built out of as few rails as possible with cuts going in later on. Each member has an area to upload their own images, which can be viewed separately, or combined into a single gallery for all of Templot Club. You can upload whatever you wish, but obviously it's intended mainly for images connected with Templot or railway track. If you upload your family snaps, be aware that they will be visible to the entire world! This now makes it possible to include several images in a message, instead of the present attachment limit of only one per message (or needing to sign up with another web site to store your images). Note however that it is only for images -- photos, screenshots, drawings, diagrams, etc. The gallery won't accept .box and .bgs files which must still use the existing attachment mechanism. To include an image in your message this way, do this: 1. Upload it to the Image Gallery. 2. Write your message and click ...

Hi Paul, I think Nigel meant the south station. The gradients to the west on both the branch and main lines commence near the page staple. If you move the whole south station over the lower tracks, you won't be able to preserve the clearances there. Also building an entire station including pointwork over hidden tracks requires a greater clearance for carpentry than just having the single track on the right over the lower tracks, so there would be no gain in gradients from the longer branch runs. I think you would do better to retain the overall design as-is, and try to tweak the gradients as far as possible. The east gradient up to the south station is the most severe, and you may be able to angle the south station across into the bottom right corner a little more with the aid ...

All 8 of which have a multitude of variable settings. And then the whole lot needs to be curvable onto any radius or inserted wholly or partially in a transition zone. Not forgetting to allow for all the differences in prototype practice, UK and worldwide. And every model gauge from Z gauge to 5" gauge and larger, including all the narrow-gauge variants. You write the code and I will incorporate it into Templot. Seriously, using partial templates is the only sensible option. It also matches prototype practice -- which is always our first point of reference, rather than a model track catalogue. If it's a straight slip and you don't want to create it yourself there must be a finished slip of the required gauge and angle in a downloadable file somewhere, which you can add as a group and then peg into position using the notch ...
