... then add chairs and rail. With components such as C+ L's soldered up Common Crossings and ready to use Switch Blades, track making is as easy as any other facet of our hobby. If you still prefer riveted construction, you can use any of the above. And we also have separate 8'-6" and 9' sleepers, with accurately spaced holes for both EM& P4- as I said previously, no more 'one size fits all'. These are complemented by timbers, 18" long and 10", 12" and 14" wide- all cut by laser, with an accuracy that no guillotine or slitting saw can match. And due to the gauge specific sizes, you can use rivets with smaller heads, thus easing the job of adding cosmetic chairs. We are making a start in in 4mm, but will supply 2mm, 3mm, S Gauge, 7mm and Scale7 ASAP. We have no fixed timetable- if you want something now, just ask. But there is more. Buildings- nothing can ...

What is the prototype? In the vast majority of cases the splice rail length is set so that both legs of the vee are the same length. For example the usual dimensions of REA bullhead 1:7 crossings from the blunt nose are: Point and Splice assembled= 13'-10" Splice rail only= 13'-1.5" And for original inclined FB: Point and Splice assembled= 14'-0" Splice rail only= 13'-3" The couple of inches difference is accounted for by the changed blunt nose dimensioning, and the wider timber spacing at joints for FB. regards, Martin. posted: 17 Feb 2012 15:34 from: shawg info is taken from NERA's L.N.E.R standard permanent way 95r B.S Rail drawing No:100A. i cant make out if these measurements ...

There was a field behind the shop littered with abandoned trailers and containers, in which you could go rummaging for all manner of surplus technical equipment. Some of it had obviously cost a fortune to manufacture, with turned brass fittings and complex machined housings and sealed lids. And in the next container you found an entire army canteen -- wonky tables and chairs, huge aluminium pots and pans, dented trays and trolleys. Then it was a case of dragging your booty back into the shop and haggling over a price. Happy days. All gone now of course. Even the cruise missile. It's now a modern shed selling chinese imports and outdoor clothing which you could buy just as easily somewhere else. So the business is probably rather hampered by being located in the Herefordshire countryside miles from anywhere. And now the final straw ...
