... to be getting variable results. In 2mm scale (9.42 track, 8' 6" sleepers) it appears to be 1mm corresponding to 6" on the real thing. In N gauge (9mm track, 8' 6" sleepers) it appears to be about 0.75mm. These are using the latest update, on some previous versions I seemed to be getting the platform edge aligned with the end of the sleepers. Howard. It is the distance from the RAIL to the edge of the platform that is important, and this can be adjusted. Serves me right for using something for which it is not intended! I am using "platforms" along the edges of track to work out the width of ballast needed so I can cut the cork underlay to size. (This also explains why I wanted "platforms" to follow the curvature on points). Maybe there is ...

I have made a quick start on it, by just adding together a straight, curved and slip track over a B6 diamond crossing. Can someone please point me in the direction of either a thread or instructions of how to make a slip with one straight and one curved road please. ... , I've done it for you. If you want to see a picture of a switched double-slip, I did one last year in 7mm scale (0 -MF to be precise) and you can see it on my website before the tiebars were fitted. You have 3.3mm between the wing rail fronts at the switch points, allowing 1.6mm opening on each at the same time. That's enough for 00-SF, although normally 1.7mm is used ...

My problems begin when I try to move outside my comfort zone and produce something that I want to build, based on the NER prototype. However, Martin's last posting looks as though the video he has offered to produce will begin to address that, so I shall be trying again very soon! Yes Templot is different but I found that with a keyboard sheet in front of me, and 'playing with Templot for a while, things soon came together. So, as others have said, have a 'play' first of all then get serious. When you get down to the actual plane, try this. It might sount a bit like going two steps back and ...
