While having a good look at the C&L picture to see where the angle of the diamond was written I noticed something which IMHO is wrong. At the right side there are dimensions shown including the 6 foot way which here is measured from the inside faces of the rails. I remember reading a discussion* about the prototype track centres' separation for the 6 foot way that a guy had got wrong as 10' 9"1 /2 because he'd forgotten the two 2" .75 rail thicknesses when measuring from the inner faces. ... but the end rail joint doesn't appear. I've used F4 to roll this out and it never appears. There is also a gap between one panel's sleepers and the next. I've tried shortening the rails in the custom data to make them line up with the last sleeper but that doesn't seem to work either. The rail length entered doesn't seem to be picked up by the program and so no end rail joint even though the first one is there. 412_190434_400000000.jpg Could this be a bug? On many laptops in order to get the F keys to work in the traditional way for Templot it is necessary to first press a key marked Function or Fn or F-Lock or Fn-Lock or some such, usually coloured brown or blue. See your computer manual. When the Templot docs were written 10 years ago most computers were desktops. That situation has now changed (although not here -- my one and only laptop is out on loan to a friend and not missed). I've added an emergency note to the tip of the week, but before I add it properly to the docs, I need to know exactly how this button is worded on different laptops, its colour, and where it is the keyboard. Usually you would want to follow that up with some timber shoving to tidy things up. Here's a short video showing how to create a curved crossover with the tracks at 25ft centres (100mm in 4mm scale): new video: widely-spaced crossover 3 minutes, 2.5MB (feasible for slow dial-up -- about 10 minutes download). In general, short turnouts have steeper/sharper V-crossing angles, turnouts with shallow/flatter V-crossing angles are longer. Here are two turnouts to illustrate that: 2_231715_250000000.png The top one has a 1:4 V-crossing. The bottom one has a 1:10 V-crossing. The easy way to change between these and other sizes in-between is to use the F5 mouse action.
