Haven't run trains in about 12 years so keen to get something going. The first of the rails have been laid today after making the turnout soldering jig and testing it out. I have been researching garden railways for some time now and it seems that commercially available track base stands up well to UV and other environmental factors. It seems the trick is to get the track base right with suitable rail gaps for expansion and contraction purposes. Thank you one again for your comments. ... but the end rail joint doesn't appear. I've used F4 to roll this out and it never appears. There is also a gap between one panel's sleepers and the next. I've tried shortening the rails in the custom data to make them line up with the last sleeper but that doesn't seem to work either. The rail length entered doesn't seem to be picked up by the program and so no end rail joint even though the first one is there. 412_190434_400000000.jpg Could this be a bug? Now fixed -- the file name field will be empty in the next program update. It goes against common sense to use massively more memory for full colour unnecessarily, but clearly the GDI is now optimised for this and works much better when manipulating bitmaps in full colour, and when panning and zooming over them. 3. if Windows reports "Templot not responding", ignore it. ... built. I have widened the track spacing on the double track curves as best I can and used transition curves to ease the reverse curves, which were very abrupt. Altered the scissors type diamond arrangement to get the vees a bit further from the baseboard joint and less problematic with the timbering there and sorted out a few misaligned track joins.
