... topic: 3319 Ladder Track Centrelines posted: 14 Aug 2018 14:10 from: Chris Hodge Hi Guys There is probably a simple answer to this. I work in N Gauge using Finetrax and it looks like Wayne works with 23mm centre lines on his crossovers. I have tried setting the adjacent centre lines to 23mm as per one of the dropdown menus. I am trying to set up a fiddle yard with centre lines ot 23mm between tracks. I have drawn two ladders of one RH and 2 LH B6 turnouts at one end and a ladder of one LH and two RH B6 turnouts at the other with a B6 crossover as drawn by templot in the middle, but the straight connecting rails from the crossover to the two ends don't meet correctly as it appears that when the turnouts are joined together to form the ladder, the resulting tracks from the diverging side that will form the storage yard are at different track centres to those set up on the crossover. regards Chris Last edited on 14 Aug 2018 14:23 by Chris Hodge posted: ...

Hi John, I'm having a think about that. There is a significant problem -- using the wrong calibration data is likely to be 10 times worse than using the printer uncalibrated. Even if Templot finds some saved calibration data, there is no way of knowing that it applies to the very same unchanged actual physical printer that you are about to use. You may have obtained a new printer, or had an old one repaired. Folks could go on unknowingly using out-of-date calibration data for years.
