Hi Richard, For GWR and BR(W) David Smith's book says the lever handle should be 5ft from the gauge face of the rail, to suit the standard connecting rod. ... scrolling. I always prefer to scroll, just a flick of the mouse wheel takes you up and down the page easily, and you can sit back and read instead of peering forward at the screen. Much more comfortable. But each to his own as always. Perhaps this is a laptop v. desktop thing? I'll add my vote to smaller text rather than scrolling, on both laptops and desktops. ... realised that I was repeatedly performing a similar operation and posited that it could have been somewhat simpler if there was an additional option on the 'geometry'-> 'peg positions' dialogue to move the peg over the notch- which is greyed out unless and until, the notch is within the bounds of the control template. I had a look round the other menus, but either couldn't find it or didn't realise the wording represented what I wanted to achieve. I run Templot on Linux Ubuntu 10.04 using Wine and have found an interesting little phenomenon with the current TDV release. When I have Templot open and I want to shift the track position on the work pad I have, until now, just hit F7 on the keyboard. However with the TDV if I do this Templot immediately shuts down and reverts to the desktop. If I use the F7 tab at the top of the work pad everything functions OK. I have no problem with this, I just have to remember to use the tab not the keyboard. I just thought I would mention it as I know Martin wants to hear about any little niggles that users may have. ... During these tests I'm also ensuring that I'm only running one copy of Templot at a time, between the two machines, to prevent problems with two copies trying to access the same file. In the great scheme of things this is a minor problem though! I've not yet seen anything else awry running Templot under Vista, and taking my laptop away over Christmas relieved some boredom (Oh yeah- version 0.91c on both machines!)
