... try it- you KNOW this code like the back of your paw. Hi Graeme, Don't be too sure. Just because I wrote it years ago doesn't mean I can remember it now. It comes back slowly when I start working on it, but there are large chunks of code which I haven't looked at for years. Many thanks for your offer to help with Sourceforge. Good news -- in the last 10 minutes I have for the first time exported from T2 a boxful of templates in the new format, imported it successfully in OT, re-exported it from OT, and imported it back in T2. Without as far as I can find any errors in the round trip. It has taken me several days to get this far. Time for some shut-eye. cheers, Martin. posted: 29 Oct 2019 15:31 from: Graeme Martin Wynne wrote: I was hoping that simply replacing the directory-list controls would get the file viewer working in OT/MEC more or less as-is. I was glad to read from both you and Martin that its neigh on inevitable that in everything bar S4 we have to move the "joint/ pivot point" up towards the crossing. I'd always felt it was cheating a bit to do this, which of course it is, but seems I'm in good company! The other important consideration here for me, and you I presume, is that this where I make the electrical break for the crossing polarity, so I need there to be a decent physical distance between that joint and the adjoining stockrail to ensure the backs of the wheels can't touch the closure rail, unlikely as that may be? We don't have many constructional topics for Gauge 1 track, so I'm sure there will be a lot of interest. Are your locomotives using battery power or live steam? Your PVC V-crossings (frogs) will be non-conductive, so that's quite a long dead section for the pickups to bridge. The flare angles on the wing rail ends are quite important, otherwise there is a risk of wheel flanges hitting the end of the rail. Cutting the V-crossings manually from solid PVC seems to be a lot of work. Do you have a 3D printer? This would seem to be a natural project for 3D printing. UV-resistant polymers are available, see for example: http://www.makershop3d.com/282-filament-outdoor-use cheers, Martin. posted: 25 Jun 2020 19:25 from: Rob Manchester Martin Wynne wrote: Hi Igor, ...

I have come to the conclusion that there is no way I can support all the above in the coming years and progress the Companion a bit more quickly. So in the next program update I have removed options 2. and 3. above, and the Templot Companion will revert to an online web version only. But not in the responsive format. It's important, to me at least, that the A-Z Index is easy to use and browsable as the main entry point to the content. So I have devised a new format for the online Companion: 2_010754_230000000.png The two columns on the left provide the Contents List and A-Z Index, and on smaller screens this is all you will see. Clicking items on either of those opens the relevant information page in a separate browser tab. This has pros and cons, but the big advantage is that on mobile devices ...

If you go with the video route then make this video and others easily visible to new starters that way at least some will watch and learn from it. Especially when timber shoving you can instantly swap from one template to the next, although it's important not to mis-click on the timber numbers. But in this mode the Z button (or DELETE key) to invalidate the control template (by reducing it to zero length) is essential to prevent some unwanted stores on the background. I downloaded a map from old-maps.co.uk it is 1928 and thus produced by tape measure and not aviation or satellite of course. The proportions of everything is remarkably close in respect of each item, but the overall scale is highly questionable- to the tune of about 8%. This seems quite high, even for such an old map. (I am comparing this against bing maps which zooms quite close in and has a good scale, whereas google maps does not.) I have printed out the old maps as a PDF and then scanned it as a jpeg to use as a backdrop. When I used the scale of 2500, it was about double so I dropped it to 1250 and thought "oh well".
