The very same code running in Firefox produces the expected line formatting; in Chrome requires two blank lines to deliver one blank line; and in IE delivers two blank lines when only one is entered. It's all the same code. I will see what I can do, but in the meantime: 1. Try using the Quick Reply box at the bottom of every topic page. You can increase the area by dragging the corner grip. Lovely model BUT...The coupling rods no longer stay on the loco. Basically this is due to the fact the plastic inserts for the back of the wheels have worn out. Now I don't mind putting a new chassis into the loco, but for the sake of 6 securing inserts made of plastic I could save a lot of my hard earned wedge. On the other hand, the drawing Martin has kindly posted of a heel joint on a chair shows just how difficult it must have been to mount any kind of spacer block to maintain that 2" clearance. Those difficulties are exacerbated by the bolts being fed through the fishplate from the side of the adjacent stock rail. I don't see how that can be done once the stock rail and closure rail are in place, and it's an interesting divergence from the North British design, in which the fishbolts are inserted from the side where there is most room to do so, the nuts then being offered to the bolts in the gap between stock rail and switch/closure rail. It is indeed unfortunate that so little information seems to be about regarding pre-group Scottish practice. If I create a new turnout it appears to always be formed with a "regular" V crossing. If I curve the turnout it maintains the same "regular" V crossing. If I "insert" a turnout in an existing length of plain curved track it creates a turnout with a "regular" V crossing. My instincts tell me that at some point a "curviform" V crossing would be more suitable. Even if the turnout is inserted in curved track, the relative displacement of the vee rails remains the same, i.e. the radius in both vee rails is the same. However, in the case of a curviform type of V-crossing, the angle applies only at the FP, and the rails of the diverging road beyond there continue to curve away from the main road at the same radius. This means that the angle between the vee rails increases as you move along them. Consequently, if a curviform V-crossing is inserted in curved ...
