... case, so that they are all unique again. Templates can still be named as before, but if you don't want to do that the label will be shown as the ID number only instead of "no-name". Because the ID number is shorter than a name, I have changed the default to the boxed-over style for the labels on the trackpad. This setting has always been available, but I imagine lots of users have never found it. Easily changed if you don't like it, and now included in your program preferences. I decided to try and produce my plan on my own without bothering you guys with stupid beginners questions but have now hit an impasse. My background is that I am retired after 40 years of software development, which of course includes some CAD work. I thought I would eventually manage to produce something. Well I have succeeded in that area but I see that I am going to get a rollicking like Andrew- having built my track plan on an existing (but modified) map without practicing all of the features first. I guess I used only the basics of Templot and because I landed up doing a lot of rework, I have probably not done it the most efficient way. I couldn't for example get the move group to work properly so landed up moving my goods yard a template at a time many times as I moved it around the design. The issue that I ...

They would be deleted entirely. The NLS historic maps (and most slippy maps, including the OSM standard map) use raster (bitmap) tiles, on which it is impractical to think of editing-out or replacing any detail. And in any event there would usually be copyright issues with such re-use. But in OSM the underlying data is freely available for anyone to use for anything. Any element can be modified or replaced at will (but not necessarily uploaded back to the OSM map if it is not an accurate representation of what's on the ground now). Here for example is that ...

Yes, you can create customized templates in Templot matching almost any conventional track, including double-timbers. However customizing templates does need a good knowledge of Templot's many functions, and there is often more than one way of achieving the desired result. As you probably know, the defaults in Templot are based on UK track practice. I have seen some pictures of German pointwork with double timbers, but I can't find any just now, and I don't recall seeing any dimensioned drawings of double-timbered turnouts. A while ago, Martin pointed out to me that there was one area that had less than the minimum track spacing, of which I have been trying to rectify. This particular issue is not much of a problem as it is because of a crossover (this can be relocated). Upon further investigation it seems that there are several other areas that also need attention. I am now very concerned that a large amount of the design will need to be redone which could take me a considerable amount of time. What I'm looking for is if someone could be kind enough to look over my design and check to see where I have issues. A user-customised toolpad would be great, but a lot of work -- not in the functionality but in devising the user interface to set it up. 2. If you have a subset of common functions, some users may tend to use it exclusively and eventually forget that there are many other functions available, or never find them in the first place. 3.
