... blade tips is in the order of 2.2mm. I uderstand that (from a posting by Martin): "For nearly all UK switches, the points opening at the tip is 4.1/4 ", and the minimum clearance anywhere along the open switch rail (point) is 2".- This scales (in 4mm) at 1.42mm at the tip, with a minimum clearance along the switch rail of 0.67mm. Whilst I'm happy with the clearance figure of 0.85mm I've achieved (I'm using 00/EM profile wheelsets, including modern RTR wheelsets) I'm a little concerned about the resulting tip clearance of 2.2mm. The curvature of the blades matches the Templot template, so am I doing anything wrong or are my figures to be considered "the norm" please? Is the figure of 1.42mm (or close to) actually achievable whilst at the same time maintaining minimum clearance along the blade? Many thanks. Your problem is in Windows Mail. It is truncating the URL at the anchor (the bit at the end after the #) when it parses the link, instead of including it. The only suggestion I can make is to copy and paste the link into your browser instead of simply clicking it. Make sure that what you are copying includes the #p.... bit on the end. Or to not use Windows Mail. If you normally view emails as HTML you could try changing to viewing emails as plain text (which is much safer). But all emails from Templot Club are plain text anyway, so that shouldn't really make any difference. All the above also applies ...

Free download from: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/reader4.php The big problem I have is that things tend to work fine here when I test them (on 3 different computers), but users then report difficulties doing exactly the same thing. Unless I can reproduce the problem here, it is almost impossible to investigate. That's one reason why I have included native PDF files from Templot in the next Pug. I've tested creating large PDF files with included full-size background scans, and so far it is all working fine. The created PDFs can be printed from both the Adobe and Foxit readers. I think I have boxed myself into a corner on this and then opened a can of worms when I got there. I was aware when I introduced recently the option to include sketchboard items in the output that there would be some size limits on each item, and I did a lot of testing. But I didn't properly allow for the effect of that in the larger scales. The reason that your PDF is failing is that some of your sketchboard items are over the size limit -- the road features, for example. At 600 DPI any item much over 1000mm* in width or depth is likely to fail. That can be increased by reducing the DPI, but it is still unacceptably ...

The first point (C10) serves the TMD which features a two road shed, refueling road/ head-shunt and a siding (A7) for a couple of TTA wagons of diesel. I'd like to hear any comments and suggestions regarding tidying up the plan. And while I'm without doubt that the overall plan is highly unrealistic, I'd appreciate input as to anything I can do to increase realism overall. For instance, I'm not sure if I should include a trap point on the main exit from the shed. I'm planning on having a small ground frame to operate the double slip and the shed point, with a leaver on extended timbers for the siding. Carlisle PSB would likely be in-charge of the C10 for shed access. I'd also be interested in the best way to operate the two crossovers which will be sandwiched between platforms, Any input greatly received.
