Proxxon stuff is much better made I think. Incidentally, I plan to try out the etched brass chairs from Masokits (there was a feature on them in MRJ a while back) in conjunction with the sleepers. This means that it is not possible to fit a crossover with both turnouts exactly aligned at their CTRL-5 mid-points (which is what the make crossover tool does). If you do that on a transition curve, you get a warning that the new transition curve may need adjustment to achieve the desired alignment. If as in your plan it is important that the new track is parallel/concentric with the original track (beyond the transition zones), do this instead: 1. on the first turnout do geometry> turnout-road exit length> crossover. 2. do tools> make double-track TS. Without a crossover to consider, Templot can do an automatic adjustment on the new transition zone position. Select the automatic option. 3. insert a turnout in the new plain track ...

... you are having problems with this transition curve is that the starting templates are themselves transition curves. When one or both starting template is a transition curve, it is necessary to tell Templot whereabouts within it you want to make the new transition to match. You do that by moving the fixing peg on it to the required position. Most usually that will be at one end or the other of the template (usually in practice the opposite end to where you last put it) where the radius is not changing and you can adjust the final position of the template boundary as required. (But you can if you wish put the peg within the transition zone for a match. In that case you must make a split and template boundary at that exact location, because of the varying radius.) What you need to do therefore is to put the peg at the near end of the template on the left. Click on it, and then peg/align tools> move peg on background template, and notch under> to CTRL-1. ...
