I'm conscious that there are semaphore signals to go in between adjacent lines in places and want to make sure the clearances are there for those, but again, I'm not sure how to do that, or the measurements that should be worked to? I would guess it was either the type of dye/paint you used and or too little solvent that gave the problems. When I updated via the download from the Templot site, as you suggested, it still did a couple of scans but then confirmed that the program was safe. 214a went through with no problem at all which made the 214b situation more surprising. This gives much better running with modern Slater's-pattern wheels. There has been much discussion about this on other forums such as RMweb. ... fact that it is moving along a curve isn't at all obvious. The best way to understand these 4 functions is to experiment with them. Try starting with an S-curve transition template and using each of them in turn. Here's a bit of video. Watch what happens to the peg and the radial centre marks in each case.
