... Jam jar came out right for a 1:8 bend. However, if the turnout is curved then getting this bend in accurately becomes harder. Yes it can be manually checked against a Templot printout, but I find adjustments tend to end up leaving lots of irregular bends rather than one clear and gentle curve. I have a week off next week. I shall think up some ideas and try them- I've nothing to lose but my fingers and thumbs- oh, and pride. I zoomed the view in to approximately real size on the screen and the line had disappeared. I then started nicking down the X value until at 1049.47mm, the line appeared. At 1049.48mm, it disappeared. I also printed out a page covering the line at 1:1 and the line printed OK. Try starting with an S-curve transition template and using each of them in turn. Here's a bit of video. Watch what happens to the peg and the radial centre marks in each case. So I then half the swing angle (incidentally halving the swing angle by typing it into the box usually results in calculation failure) and mirror it on peg, but then it doesn't line up with the second straight. Don had a model of Bangor (LNWR) in his loft and would run the "Irish Mail" with 14 coaches and on a couple of occassions managed to "strip" the gearbox on the loco! ... The numbers are needed when printing an actual construction template to use on the workbench, the platforms are needed when printing a full track plan to lay out on the baseboard. I will look at moving the timber numbers above the platforms in the next full update, but it's not straightforward because the platforms are part of the rails printing function -- which have to be above the timbering obviously. cheers, Martin. ... Crossing angles are on the extreme limit for a fixed elbow, according to the GWR Gospel in the GWR handbook. I guess that the formation is probably not prototypical for a GWR terminus, but due to space restrictions and flowing track plan, my options are limited. However, in 4mm is it possible to build, and have reliable running at these angles. Welcome and appreciate any comments, as this is well outside of my knowledge area. Try measuring the light blue grid squares, or for 00 gauge templates, the plain track sleepers should be exactly 32mm long. I wrote the print file to the pdf creator and saved it and then opened through parallels to print it out. Hi Paul, Timber numbering is showing ok here in both Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader, so it looks to be a problem with your reader, or insufficient memory on your system. I do notice that there seems to be a problem with the positioning of the timber numbers -- some are overlapping ...
