... . There's a reason for that -- it's to minimize the effect of the error you found. What you are intended to do is use a copy of the original underlying curve for the connecting track and shorten it to that TMINP exit. Rather than extending the exit from the half-diamond. Of course I have rather thrown a spanner in that with the new OS peg positions. Especially if you then go and extend the switch with some approach track. The new code which I have been working on today will definitely improve the match to the original curve. Whether it will eliminate the mismatch entirely it's too early to say, I need to do a lot of testing to be sure I haven't broken anything. It's looking good so far, my intention is that it's good enough if the extend/shorten to meet functions work ok on TMINP, and preferably also on TVJP (CTRL-6). There is also the thorny question of what radius make branch track should be, and does it differ for a regular half-diamond from ...

Your double track curves are too close as they are at standard track spacing, which needs widening to avoid a conflict. I have done the double slip but there are issues with the positioning of the baseboard joints particularly the one through the diamond in the scissors. I have tried altering the geometry to improve things, but am coming to the conclusion that it will be rather more complex than that to resolve. I will have another look tomorrow. With a bit of tweaking of switch positions I managed to move the 1: 5 crossing to a position where neither of its wing rails got truncated. On the attached boxfile I took the liberty of making a significant modification to your proposed layout with a view to improving its operational flexibility. The modification consists of adding a shunting neck running parallel to the branch. My rationale for this is that your original layout appeared to require occupation of the branch for any shunting of the yard. Depending upon how the layout is signalled (particularly as regards the position of the Branch Home), any shunting operations may have to be suspended prior to acceptance of a train from the next block post on the branch. With the neck added, shunting can proceed without conflict with any movements over the branch ...

... topic: 3060 Windows 10 Creators Edition posted: 10 Aug 2017 04:42 from: Martin Wynne In the latest Windows 10 Creators Edition, Microsoft have made a couple of changes which are causing much grief to users of hi-resolution displays. 1. In a so-called improvement to the dpi-aware scaling, anything which appears in the Segoe UI font (i.e. almost everything in Windows own dialogs, Windows Explorer etc., and in application title bars and menus) is now looking small, blocky and gritty and hard on the eyes. For some reason this applies only to the Segoe UI font -- other fonts display nicely as before. 2. But the catch is that they have also removed the option to change the font and font sizes for such items which used to be available from the Advanced Display Settings in previous versions of Windows 10. For Templot, this means that although the program itself is not affected, the menus and window titles (over which Templot has no control*) are looking unpleasant and ...

Until now I have resisted the temptation to remove it entirely because I know some users do find it useful, and it is helpful for beginners familiar with other track planning programs (the original reason for adding it). But yesterday it snapped on me once too often and I decided enough is enough. So I have given some thought on how to improve matters without losing the default behaviour for beginners, or the option to use it occasionally if desired for more experienced users. So in the next program update, I have modified the F7 snapping as follows: 1. if accessed from the beginner buttons at the top of the trackpad, snapping will be ON by default, but can be turned OFF by holding down the SHIFT key. The mouse action panel will indicate that snapping is on by default: 2_252027_480000000.png 2. if accessed from the action menu, or by pressing ...

It is down to individual users to make that change in the file compatibility properties, and of course hardly anyone is going to do that. Which means that on the modern hi-res monitors it is displayed using Windows virtualisation, producing results not much better or in some cases worse than MP4. At the same time FlashBackConnect have improved their MP4 image quality, and now implement the full FBR interactive functions on their MP4 player. So that is the only format I shall be using for Templot videos for the future.
