... the initial contents of the listbox. cheers, Martin. posted: 7 Mar 2020 23:16 from: Martin Wynne DerekStuart wrote: I have learned that Lazarus is "almost 100%" Delphi7 compliant Hi Derek, I have now found the Delphi7 Quick Start booklet: http://docs.embarcadero.com/products/rad_studio/delphi7/D7_QuickStart.pdf It's not as might be expected about how to insert the CD and install the program. It's actually 52 pages about getting started with Delphi programming. It's a lot more readable than the Developer's Guide, with many screenshots and some examples. Although the most useful chapter in the Delphi5 edition- "Your first application- a brief tutorial" seems to have been removed. However, the Delphi4 (1998) edition, which includes it, is here: http://epdf.pub/delphi4-quick-start.html and there is a download icon to download a PDF file. See Chapter 3. The downside of course is that it's not Lazarus, so some mental translation of the screenshots is needed. cheers, ...

... Just bumping this topic, for no other reason than I have mentioned it on RMweb: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/120110-welcome-to-st-aldhelm/&do=findComment&comment=3791641 XTrackCAD is open-source, so in theory there is scope for some integration with Templot3. There was some previous discussion about this before I made Templot3 open-source, although I haven't heard from Adam since: topic 3230 I did subsequently make a post on the XTrackCAD developer's forum to say that Templot is now open-source too. There is also a mechanism in Templot2 to create connectors for use in XTrackCAD or other CAD software: 2_031310_320000000.png I don't know if anyone has ever made any use of this. cheers, Martin. ... this thread since that might be the correct one. But for those who might be interested in using the free Delphi IDE or the Lazarus IDE, there's an option to download a free PDF of Marco Cantu's latest ebook on Object Pascal, the OOP language used in Delphi and Lazarus. The URL for the small amount of hoops you have to jump through is here :- http://forms.embarcadero.com/sDownloadMarcoseBook I signed up for it last night and it seemed to accept my request. I am a member of the Embarcadero Developer's Network but I don't think that gave me any advantages for the offer. I got an email this morning with a URL pointing to the download source and it downloaded no problem. I've only given it a cursory glance so far but it looks as though it might reference Delphi 10.1 when involving IDE matters but Delphi 10.3, the present free version, is not too much different, certainly for programming basics. Cantu has a good reputation for his past books on Delphi. Jim. Last edited on 22 Oct 2019 11: ...
