... . It must be the way I've learned to use Templot (which I think is brilliant by the way) suck it and see, learn as you go method- how do I get it to do this? find a way (usually by trial and error or reading/viewing a tutorial), then use it. Tony W mentioned he was unable to reproduce my problem- try this Tony. Start Templot to the opening screen with a track piece displayed, this is shown as being in or under control, click 'insert' and it will change to a background template, click on it again, click 'M' in the menu which changes it back to being again in the control. Now click 'shift' and move it up the screen and you should have that one and a 'blue ghost' where the original one was. Obvious to me that my problem is operator error!! I've never used T, C or Y to the control, only M and, when taking something out of control, I use 'insert'. Then ...

... tiny dot of black paint looks the part. Remember not to do both ends of the same check rail. cheers, Martin. posted: 13 May 2018 20:56 from: Rob Manchester Hi Martin, Many thanks for the info. I will certainly try to remember some holes in my checkrails- on the 7mm scale ones at least. At least NS is easier to drill than steel Thanks too for the link to the check rail post. What is the easy way to find Wally's images in the Gallery? The 'Insert existing image from Gallery' only allows me to put mine in a new post. ... someone else might be able to oblige sooner. Jim. posted: 14 Nov 2007 06:04 from: BTuckey Hi Martin, Could you give me just a hint on how you constructed the formation comprising templates 13 and 14? I am trying to construct a similar formation and started with a plain track curve of 250 feet at around 45 deg to the horizontal. I then applied a transition curve using 'easement to straight' and used the F4 key to give a straight extension past the goal post. I then used the 'insert turnout in plain track' command to insert a B7 turnout. However, at this stage the diverging road of the turnout was not horizontal so I used F9 (slide through peg) to correct. I then applied the 'make ladder crossover' command. After some trial and error I was able to get the diamond horizontal but there is, I am sure, a more professional way. Cheers. ... topic: 1677 Continuous check rails posted: 4 Nov 2011 13:26 from: Raymond I thought this might be useful for any one who has not yet figured it out for themselves yet. I needed several continuous check rails on sharply curved sidings and this method produces them at the correct spacing using the new module for adjusting check rails. Having already made the curved road, save it and then make a copy. Go to Template and 'Insert turnout into plain track'. Go to Geometry and use 'No track centre lines' Go to Do and click 'Switch drive mark' to delete the switch. Now delete all the rails except the check rain on the inside curve. Go to Real, 'Adjust check rails' and lengthen both ends to the full length of the curved track. Result, a properly spaced check rail with bent ends. Simples! ... topic: 2930 Scissors crossovers posted: 2 Oct 2016 17:13 from: Ray Martin, I have been using your fascinating programme for a few years now, though intermittently, to see what I could get (in 18.83) and what I couldn't into my 14ft x 9ft space. I have not progressed beyond using it as a sort of more flexible 'click and connect' system where I call up turnouts and track and add them together, although 'insert turnout into plain track' has also been useful. Using this method, I have been trying to design a scissors crossover with B7 turnouts but not at a given adjacent track spacing( I am trying to emulate the throat at Cheltenham St James arrival platforms). I have inserted B7 turnouts into curved track so that they face each other, and then add plain track to each so that they cross, and then use the 'make diamond crossing' command in the peg align tools menu. This looks at first sight to work but on magnifying the view, there is a small but significant ...
