Hi Tony I've done the same thing for use with a Canon printer, although it wasn't 500 sheets of A1! I've read elsewhere that HP printers don't like compatibles, and Epson certainly never used to either. I tend to use genuine cartridges though, but if I'm going to do lots of photo printing it's cheaper to get them done by uploading them to somewhere like Bonusprint, or even take them into Tesco or Boots!
