... topic: 1140 Bridport bay LSWR 1910 Latest Plan posted: 6 Jun 2010 14:11 from: philchudley Hi All A little while ago I uploaded my plan for a LSWR terminus based in 1910 at Bridport Bay. I reflected upon the feedback received and went about some redesigns. Also using the most valuable assistence provided by Martin in producing customized templates for LSWR turnouts, allowed to my to create a LSWR turnout library for 1891, 1908 and slip geometry and timbering. I have no completed the re-work and have have included the plane here for others information. The latest plan bears more that a passing resemblence to Swanage (albeit shorted and the goods yard compressed) I moved the engine shed from the original Swanage plan, since it did not look right on my compressed layout. I do realise the headshunt is far too short, however due to space restrictions the plan is to continue the headhsunt "offstage" into the fiddle yard. ... topic: 983 Bridport Bay LSWR 1910 posted: 1 Dec 2009 22:16 from: philchudley Hi All Here is my plan (P4) for a "might have been" layout. It supposes that the LSWR instead of GWR reached Bridport Bay (West Bay), and here is the layout as in circa 1910. Initial baseboards have arrived (frpm Brilliant Baseboards) and would invite any comments before track laying commences. All station throat turnouts and single slip are on a single baseboard. Both .BOX and .BGS files are included as a .ZIP Cheers Phil Attachment: attach_695_983_Bridport_Bay_LSWR_1 910.zip 374 posted: 1 Dec 2009 23:31 from: Nigel Brown Hi Phil Operation is going to be a little awkward, in that a goods train can't arrive if both platform roads are occupied because it's got nowhere to go, and if one road is occupied then the goods loco can't run around it's train, and when it gets to shunting the yard it would probably use a platform road as well in the operation which effectively means no passenger trains in operation. ...

Charles, Not in person, I hope, since that would mean that there are two of Brian- since someone closely resembling him extracted money from my wallet at Reading on Saturday. Jim. posted: 4 Dec 2007 04:31 from: Raymond Gibson Although I still have a very large Bridport (I used to do really big stuff, in the days when time was plentiful) I use jigs supplied by the ScaleSeven Society (Charles, you do not say what scale you work in but, presumably, other similar Socieites would produce the equivalent). Because steel is hard work to file, I take off the maximum with the a hand machine like the Dremel, then fine finish with hand files.
