... posted: 11 Feb 2008 19:42 from: Gordon S I have finished my layout design which is 5.6m square. Part of the layout is a large terminus 5.6m long and just under 1m wide. I have grouped all the elements of the terminus together and used the export dxf file process to send a file to a print company who are endeavouring to print the terminus plan on continuous roll paper. The problem I have is that they are only seeing an A3 plan and not the full size. I have read the dfx help notes and sent both a "scale unchecked" version and another where I have checked the "scale" box and seen that the scale is set at 100%, both with the same result, they are only seeing an A3 file. Any ideas? Has anyone generated a large plan using dfx files? I have asked Martin and he can see no reason for it but suggested posting here. I will have to mail the file if required, as it is 8gb and too big to post. Regards Gordon ...

... in the export any previously-imported complex 3D data, the whole process moves up several notches on the doable scale. So I hope to have something you can try fairly soon. regards, Martin. posted: 7 Jan 2016 18:55 from: Andrew Barrowman Great! Thanks. posted: 7 Jan 2016 20:43 from: Andrew Barrowman Hi Martin As I mentioned, I have TC16Pro and TCdeluxe21. They don't have compatible native file formats, but they can exchange files in DXF format. I have attached the DFX for the latest version of the RMweb rendering without the rails but including webs to attach the timbers. I think I still need to adjust a couple of chairs for 1.3 mm check rail clearance, but it should be OK otherwise. TCdeluxe21 is available in the US for $70 from CAD and Graphics at the moment (there is also later version available for a bit more). This file should be editable in TCdeluxe21, and it TCdeluxe21 can output STL files. There seem to be a large number of duplicated blocks with ...

... topic: 653 Timber numbering and print rows posted: 4 Dec 2008 01:59 from: Gordon S Hi Martin/guys, couple of questions on timber numbering. When do they change? I sent of a dfx file for printing and got the print back today. I needed to align the new plan with parts of an earlier one, so printed a small section of the plan from the box file, which aligned with a specific point in the room. When I went to align this with the new dfx print, I noticed the timber numbers had changed. I don't think I have changed anything in the original box file so was a little surprised to see the timber numbers were different in the dfx file. Perhaps I did change something and can't recall it, but would be interested to understand the logic. Also wanted to see timber numbers on the screen, so went to pad, pad options, show timber numbers and the egg cup came up but nothing appears to have changed on the screen. Any ideas? One other ...

... Hi Alan, Paul and Martin. Having just done this today I thought I should throw in my twopenn'orth. The printing firm I use does a lot of architectural drawing reproductions, so need to keep their equipment up-to-date and in good order. They have a real preference for PDF as it has less issues with re-sizing during the transfer from computer to printing. This is one of the reasons I was happy to update to the TDV version, as the printers were not sure if they could handle dfx files. The four 500mm x 4550mm sheets I had printed today are as good as near perfect dimensionally. The first thing I checked as the first sheet came off was the gauge of the track, done with a vernier calliper. It was spot on. As were the grid divisions. The plotter option which they offered me is more accurate across a large area, but at $440 Australian dollars to print two 1000mm x 4550mm pages, it would want to be. So I think you will be fine as far as ...
