It might be possible to have a separate set of design preferences (represented in a master template), and you could then have a user option to "use master template at startup" (which option could be included in the user preferences). However, I do think the existing mechanism is far simpler and easier to understand -- load your previous work and you get the corresponding gauge/scale copied into the control template. If you didn't want your previous work, just delete it. But most of all, the Generator settings. To have to remove 6-7 ticks, with having to open the drop down every single time, is the most frustrating part of Templot. When I use Templot I do not want radial end marks, outline extension marks, timber centre lines, timber numbering, timber infill, 8'-6" marks on 9' sleepers. Unless you add some sort of support columns that will be removed later, it's not possible to have overhangs that exceed about 40% of the extruder nozzle's diameter. The wheels are reckoned to be undersize but I can check that out when buying the wheels for conversion and see if the splashers can be thinned down a little. Last night I ran my development version of Templot on Windows7 and it displayed the old Windows95 style buttons and controls (square grey buttons, no mouse-over effects until clicked). I spent a lot of time searching this problem on the web, and the consensus is that programs compiled using the compiler which I'm using can't access the latest Aero controls. I didn't entirely believe this, because some scrollbars (but nothing else) were showing in the Aero style. This morning, without changing anything, I have run the program again. Lo and behold the whole thing is now showing the Aero controls. I did nothing on the Windows 7 computer between switching it off last night and switching it on again this morning. It's entirely stand-alone, not connected to the internet, not networked, so it can't have updated itself in any way. It's been in use like that ...
