... YOUTUBE videos are a pain to watch, with their jerky movements and long hesitations whilst downloading the next bit of the action. One tip if your broadband connection isn't fast enough to download faster than you're watching is simply to pause the video. It will continue to download (as indicated by the progress bar), then when it's finished downloading you can watch it without all the jerkiness and hesitation. Whilst YouTube is full of advertising, apparently, you don't need to see the adverts these days- I use AdBlocker Plus for Firefox, for instance, which gets rids of the ads on just about any website. Having just turned it off briefly, it's incredible how much advertising I'm missing out on It's a shame that YouTube seems to have this reputation for being a repository of junk- there's a heck of a lot of good stuff on there. I would still prefer to see Martin's videos as the executable downloads though, rather than on YouTube- they can then be saved locally for future reference. It's much better to use the Image Gallery for pictures -- the attachment function is intended for non-image files such as .box files, etc., and you can have only one such attachment per message. Using the Gallery you can have multiple images within your text. You can upload the original screenshot to the Image Gallery and the re-sizing is done for you, and members wishing to see the full size version can click the link to do so. ... you a new problem unrelated to TDV specifically, but relevant to this discussion. This is using 0.91c in Windows 7. Just occasionally the accelerator keys are underlined in the background template menu- as can just about be seen in the photo. It's clearer in the image gallery at full size. I can't take a screenshot because the menu disappears when I hit the PrintScreen key. I can't get this to happen with any consistency, but it seems to happen only when the Shift key is held down. Other programs such as Firefox and Word are showing the accelerator keys underlined so this setting doesn't seem to be turned off. I've just clicked repeatedly, maybe 50 times or more, on the same template without holding the Shift key down and the underlining didn't appear. When I pressed the Shift key whilst still clicking away the underlining appeared after about half a dozen clicks. This does seem as if it may be a Templot bug, doesn't it? 105_191630_450000000.jpg posted: 19 May 2011 22:30 from: Martin Wynne Martin Wynne wrote: The problem ...
