... topic: 2432 Windows 7 64 bit& Firefox posted: 24 Mar 2014 19:41 from: Brian Nicholls Hi Martin, Sorry to be the proverbial pain in the you know what, but I have downloaded Firefox, and find I cannot log in on the Templot Club site. The Firefox down load was version 28.0, and I checked to see if suitable for Win 7. The only comment on the Mozella site was, that although Firefox would run on Win 7 32& 64 bit OS's, only the 32 bit version was supported. The program appears to have installed OK. Now as to my problem, I can browse the Templot club site as normal, without logging in, but as expected, I cannot post a message. When I try to log in on the site, I fill in the usual login box with the correct details, i.e. my user name and password. When I click the LOGIN button, it goes away and to all in tents, it has logged me in, as there is no login ...

... topic: 856 Warning -- Firefox users please read posted: 8 Jun 2009 12:40 from: Martin Wynne This is a serious warning from a respected source. If you are using Firefox you may want to check Tools> Add-ons to see if Microsoft have installed this extension without your permission. Please be aware that modifying the Windows Registry is not for the faint-hearted, and could seriously damage your system if you get it wrong. In a recent update of the .NET framework Microsoft silently installs an extension to your Firefox browser if it is found on your system. This extension enables websites you visit with Firefox to silently install software on your computer, thus injecting the most serious flaw of Internet Explorer into Firefox. Microsoft installs this extension in such a way that it cannot be removed directly by the user -- it is listed in the Extensions list but Uninstall is disabled. This is not a bug -- this is the intended functionality of the Firefox extension, probably to enable Microsoft to install software on your machine when ...

I've recently semi-switched to Google Chrome, from Firefox, as the latter is starting to get a bit clunky (Chrome has it's quirks as well though!) Anyway, I just tried to reply to a post and discovered that Templot Club doesn't work properly in Chrome! 105_251505_330000000.png The screenshot shows the result of selecting text then clicking the quote tool. You can see all sorts of other things wrong or missing as well! A quick peek at the market share of various browsers suggests that it might be a good idea for sites to work with Chrome- it could also be argued that it would be a good idea if Chrome worked with existing sites, but that's a whole different story Needless to say, I'm using Firefox to post this... posted: 25 Apr 2012 21:21 from: Martin Wynne Hi Paul, There are 4 different posting editors ...

What I'm really waiting for is for someone to confirm that the video links are working nicely. For example, if you go to this page (you can click help> watch a video >> >): http://templot.com/companion/video_list.php and 1. click one of the video links, you should see something like this. (This is in Firefox, in other browsers it will be different -- in Edge it appears at the bottom of the screen): 2_280842_460000000.png 2. wherever it is, you should be able to select Open, or else see a .sk5 file name which can be double-clicked. 3. and when you do that and click OK or whatever (as you can see, Firefox is by far the most informative and user-friendly), 4. you should then see a downloading progress bar like this: 2_280700_080000001.png 5. after ...

... Nothing to do with Templot but the 'hold CTRL to open in an additional tab' will often produce the same as not holding it depending on browser settings. Hi Rob, In this case pages open in a named tab, so without CTRL they should always open in the same tab. It seems to work in several browsers in my tests, but of course ultimately I have no control over a user's browser settings. Whether the browser actually switches to the tab is another user setting. All I can say is that using Firefox on my systems everything always works as I expect and intend. Other browsers, maybe not. That's the problem with relying solely on a web-based format -- browsers are a minefield to keep track of. I have enough to do with Templot without getting into extreme web design. For example, in the FlashbackConnect videos, why does the Android browser not support the interactive pauses? Whereas Google Chrome on the same device does? There are other improvements too -- faster page loading, mouse wheel zooming can be text only or text-and-images option, easier to spot the active tab when you have lots of them open, etc. But fixing the above bug is the major highlight for me.
