... have now taken on board, I have now revamped the layout plan to include a locomotive servicing area and turntable as shown in the attached box file. I still haven't quite got my head around constructing an irregular crossing, so at the moment the plan just shows crossed tracks. They also by-pass all the usual printer setup and calibration dialogs (a frequent complaint) and just print immediately to the current printer using the current settings. It's a known problem with Epson printers. Try a shorter printer cable, or a higher grade cable. If it is an old-style parallel printer cable, try using a USB connection instead if the printer has a USB socket. ... my concern in fixing the Templot drawing to the baseboard with a strong adhesive that does not affect the paper. The idea of using yacht varnish to seal the paper sounds good. But will the plastic track base adhere to the varnished paper. I think I will try a small test section to see if this system will work. I would never attempt to build track outdoors so all of mine will be built indoors on each baseboard before being installed outside. I've bought a few common crossing chair sets via the EMGS but I don't have a reference for where they all go. I've seen a plan with them marked on but don't know where it was from. The chairs come printed in a clear resin so I used a mixture of Humbrol 24 and 70 Matt paint to match them to the Exactoscale chairs. I added bolt detail to the C&L Slide Rail chairs. (No need to do that in future now that Modelu ones are here). The C&L chairs also received the same paint treatment.
