How do I hide those or stop them being generated? Looked everywhere, but can't see how to do it... Sacrilege possibly, but I never use "notches" yet they seem to appear at random and clearly impact joining tracks with the F7 command. They only way I can lose them is by Geometry/Notch/Reset notch on pad datum. Can anyone let me know why they appear and how do I stop them? .....or perhaps I should learn to love them... posted: 8 Mar 2010 08:48 from: Martin Wynne Gordon S wrote: Couple of questions for you guys. ... topic: 2823 Track bed Width posted: 18 Jan 2016 07:52 from: Gordon S Is it possible to lock the trackbed width to a specific dimension? I have double track width changing from 44.47mm on straight track to 50mm on curve track to avoid long wheelbase vehicles clashing. I've only just appreciated that the track bed width is a function of the track centres and changes as the track centres change. Setting trackbed width at 90mm gives an overall width of 140mm when using 50mm track centres. Reducing that to 44.67mm track centres now means the trackbed is only 134.67mm wide. When building an 'open plan' layout with dedicated trackbed rather than a flat baseboard, it would be useful to set double track trackbed as a fixed dimension for continuity purposes throughout the layout. posted: 18 Jan 2016 08:25 from: Martin Wynne Gordon S wrote: I've only just appreciated that the track bed width is a function of the track centres and changes as the track centres change. ... topic: 3599 Zoom on print map posted: 22 Jan 2020 12:29 from: Gordon S Hi Martin, quick question for you.... Is there a zoom facility on the print map? As you know I use grouping a lot and sometimes I just want a crossover plus a few inches of the approach/exit track. I find it quite difficult to actually see where the crossover is on the map. Here's a pic. but of course it is larger than the normal screen size, so doesn't look as bad. Is there an issue with upload images? I followed the route and it started the upload, but nothing happened. It's a 557KB jpeg image and I waited four minutes.... I now added it as an attachment. The page preview helps, but that's much larger and I have to check each page individually. I'm sure there is a way to zoom in on the print map so I can select the three or for pages required, but haven't found one yet. Grateful for any ...

I'm learning as I go along and currently working on the Sketchboard. I managed to create one item and even placed it in the right position, but can't seem to move forward on a second one. Created the shape and as far as I know I have the item selected, but when clicking on 'Modify item' it is saying nothing is selected. Apologies if I'm missing something. Any chance you can point me in the right direction? When creating an 'L' shape item, should I do that as two seperate rectangles or try and draw it as a polygon? PS. The branch has been added as you suggested. I had to take out six storage roads, but it will be better for it. Managed to insert a turnout without problem, but it always comes up with a B7 turnout. How do I select a different form of turnout to insert? I have selected different turnouts no problem, but when I try and insert it, the programme defaults back to a B7. Setting up parallel tracks, again no problem, but when selecting either the MS or TS variant, invariably it puts the new track on the wrong side. How do you determine which side you need? There appears no logic to it and I get it wrong more than 50% of the time.. Can you please explain what a notch is and what it does? ... topic: 2772 Can I get grid lines or background shapes to appear on the print map? posted: 3 Nov 2015 09:19 from: Gordon S I tend to use groups to print sections of track together, particularly where I have several parallel curves. Selecting the track is not an issue using groups, but by their nature they select the whole track piece that may extend several feet beyond the end of the baseboard I am working on. It occurred to me that seeing the grid lines or background shapes on the print map would help considerably in choosing which pages to print. If I am building a corner unit, it could be 6' in each direction and I want to hold the position of each curve to each other, so have to print numerous sheets (typically 40-50 at a time). Knowing where the grid lines or background shapes were on the print map, would be a great help in choosing which pages to print. All is going reasonably well, so I installed Parallels 7, Windows 7- 64 bit and Templot TDV this morning. I've opened Templot via Parallels and the work pad shows no problem, however when I used F3 to lengthen a piece of track the desktop came up which would suggest the F keys are still linked to OSX Lion 10.7. Is there something I need to do to swap the F keys over to Windows/Templot? Can anyone advise what the process is now to get a new release code? I'm now under the impression that Martin will no longer receive emails and whilst I have downloaded the TDV, I'd rather continue working on 91C until TDV is ready for release. ... topic: 288 Double Slips and Switch-Diamonds posted: 20 Dec 2007 02:24 from: Gordon S Hi Martin and fellow Templotters, still making good progress and finally cracked how to draw a double slip. Simple question however. When converting a turnout from say a B7 to a half diamond the various gaps and check rails all seem in place at the centre of the crossing. When I select a C10 turnout though and convert to a diamond crossing, the rails at the centre of the crossing are all together and no gaps exist. (Apologies for not knowing the technical terms for the various component parts of a crossing). Does this mean you cannot build a conventional double slip using a 1:10 crossing? Here's the sketchboard plan that is confusing me. 479_011507_450000000.jpg Now this is where I'm confused as I don't understand the relationship between the numbers and grid lines. There appear to be metric numbers in the yellow band, but they don't start from zero. The blue numbers on the left edge could be imperial measurements, but don't tie up with the blue grid lines. The grid itself is accurate as the position of the outer tracks will confirm. Am I missing something or do I have to change the number indicators to tie up with the grid? I've searched ...
