... I thought it might be of interest to describe the methods I've used for this as its rather different to the approach that I started to take with the MPD. With that I'd built the track on sleepers double sided to the paper templates with the intention of removing the template at the end (which I did) and then laying the lot "Norman Solomans style" in one go and ballasting...job done! Well I still haven't plucked up the courage to do this, so... I then got interested in Howards Bolton's method of building track with the crossings pre fabricated directly on a spare template which in part is what I've followed in this next board which you'll see in the photos below. I say partly because I'd already stuck down the sleepers with double sided tape again intending to do the same as I had before. This time however I did not remove the template at the end of the track building, I just lifted it off its temporary construction board and stuck it in place with some "3M stuff" (does anyone ...

Best Regards, Howard. posted: 5 Jul 2010 19:35 from: Richard_Jones Hi Howard, many thanks for your comments- I would envisage the normal viewing point would be opposite the station building, looking up the approach road, however the aim of this scheme was to have something that (could) go to exhibitions, but could also be set up at home (if it never achieves the former!)- hence the floor "footprint". Costs are reasonable as well- this company makes it feasible for hobbyists to upload and print using a professional SLS process. Put it this way, using Shapeways made far more sense for us than buying a "home" 3D printer with all its limitations. I suppose I should say that I have no connection with the company! posted: 10 Aug 2015 10:31 from: Howard Les G wrote:...the home DIY printers deposit plastic onto a plate, on ours it is heated glass. (I don't want the track here, this is just an illustration). Second, the trackpad grid shows as squares in the positive quadrant only. This is a problem because I am developing a layout where I want to plan each baseboard separately, starting from that on the far right, so I will have future baseboards in negative territory. Third, the outline of the baseboard has been generated as a rectangular shape, and modified via font/colours and setting the trackpad line width to 3. This setting is not saved when I save the background shapes. 2_200624_500000000.png Howard Watkins Attachment: attach_1882_2491_templottest_2014 _07_20_1054_25.box 220 posted: 20 Jul 2014 12:17 from: Martin Wynne Howard ...
