... in only doing 4 angles. It can also be used for assembling the V, but in my view the slots holding the rails are too far apart, so it's possible to get the rail flexing too much when the two rails meet. Cheers Nigel posted: 22 Oct 2012 01:11 from: julia Upto now I have been using a dremel to cut the V's by eye. But I am looking for a way to speed up the production of turnouts. The EMGS jigs seem to be out of stock for the foreseeable future, so I am wondering what other options there are available. Initially I am looking for a jig for filing code 55 FB rail, but eventually my next layout will need code 75 BH. I am after both V filing jigs and blade jigs (9mm gauge and 16.5mm gauge). What are my options? J Julia, In this topic topic 1386 I included ...

... pivot can eventually fail due to the pivot wearing through the tiebar. Advantage over other scale tiebars 1) Being metal they are easy to connect to underboard point motors, a simple loop is all that is usually needed. 2) tiebar will deform rather than snap or break, but is rigid enough to operate blades. 3) Easy to alter to your exact standards.(within reason of course!) ... 2mm Scale mailing list that the wheel standards are FS160, or the same as 2mmFS with reduced gauge. But the modeller makes non-operating, scenic dioramas and the track is probably built to exact scale as a model, but not actually used for operating. That also might explain why his locomotives are not quite up to the same standard as the rest of his modelling- i.e. they are a sort of necessary evil to complete his scenic masterpieces.. I'm also not sure if I'd be happy stepping between the positive and running rails...what if you misplaced your foot and bridged the gap by accident? The Health and Safety mafia of today would probably have a fit! I never worked on LT, but I did an extended spell on the Southern. You were always taught to walk this way- the alternative is really either to step on the running rail- which is very slippery especially when wet- or to step over both rails- which guarantees touching one of them! So, bad as it looks, ...

... with the sketchboard. The idea is to curve a scanned prototype map track plan so that it can be fitted into a smaller space and used as a background guide for track planning in Templot. What a wonderful addition. I could have made great use of it recently when doing Twyford for Brian Lewis who wanted the original plan curved. I had to fudge it in the Gimp, it worked but was an pain to do. This looks simple and elegant. Regards Raymond posted: 21 Jul 2011 13:33 from: JFS Wow, This is a bit amazing! For a prototype Curved Goods shed, how about the former LNWR shed at Oldham Clegg Street? It is a listed building (which has not stopped it falling down!) because it is curved, which suggests such things are rare- though equally, not non existent!
