If you zoom inside the rectangle you won't see any difference from using the rectangle, it should be faster than before regardless. But only for large track plans. If you have a high-end fast system, the improvement may be only minor. There is a measurement from the platform edge to the track, but as far as I can see that relates to the track you are working from. How do you select the gap the other side of the platform, so that it remains a constant width from the rail edge? I can see the width could do that if both tracks were parallel, but with non parallel tracks, the platform line on one side, wouldn't remain a constant width with the track on the other side of the platform. Does that make sense? How do I deal with bay platforms as in ET? The central platform has bays each end and a solid middle section. Do I have to build that up as separate blocks? Sorry for so many questions today, but if you only run Templot two or three times a year, it's easy to forget how you did things. ...

I've noticed in my Rhyl photographs that these exist in the D12 crossovers between fast-slow lines. Just in case I'm not making it clear, the effect is that the wing-rail in the turnout road on one side is extended until it joins the check rail of the other turnout. Thanks, Geoff posted: 3 Mar 2011 21:00 from: Martin Wynne Hi Geoff, These are called "parallel-wing crossings". They are used where the crossover tracks are sharply curved, or where the check and wing rails are so close together that there isn't room for at least two clear timbers between them. You do need a new version, as it will be need to be registered with Microsoft in the usual way over the Internet. Then, you need to restart (reboot) the Mac when you want to operate Windows. Because all Macs have dual processors, it's very quick. The other way is to buy a programme called Parallels, which you install on the Mac, and then also install Windows XP or Vista. Parallels grabs a protion of your Hard Drive and runs Windows in it. The difference is that no rebooting is required, as the Mac and Windows OS's run at the same time. The beauty of this is that you can seamlessly drag and drop between the two. You can also use all the same peripherals, like scanners, printers etc. Although I'm not (yet) an expert in Templot, this has really opened Martin's ...
