... something goes awry so I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't lose the lot so may do this in two or more posts. Kind regards Andrew 2787_131455_260000000.jpg 2787_131457_520000000.jpg Attachment: attach_2492_2547_IMG_0077.JPG 313 posted: 13 Sep 2017 20:15 from: Andrew Duncan Richard Just to finish off this post, you know I think the reason I've been able to make the progress that I have, is a lot to do with this type of construction. It enables me to be sat in the main family room where we live most of the time pottering around with stuff whilst still be relatively sociable. I don't have to disappear off into the loft or cellar or shed! Anyway here's another picture. If I'm still unclear please do ask. Andrew2787_131513_550000000.jpg posted: 13 Sep 2017 22:23 from: Andrew Duncan PS I realise that looking at these pictures that you might be wondering what happens at the front of the layout? I'm intending to use a sort of Iain Rice/ Barry Norman/ Flintfields type of jigsaw scenery which will plug into the 90mm gap between the 18mm ...

... topic: 1969 Custom paper sizes posted: 28 May 2012 22:18 from: Paul Boyd Whilst pottering about with my printer the other day, it occurred to me that I've never seen mention here of using custom paper sizes- I bet most of us are sticking together bits of A4 (I've given up with telex roll for building templates on- too flimsy!) This may be old hat to some, but it might be worth looking at your printer driver settings to see if you can set a custom paper size. For instance, my new Canon MP499 (an A4 printer) can go up to 420x676mm, but not both dimensions at the same time! In practise, this means I can set a paper size of 210mm x 594mm. A piece of A2 paper is 420x594mm, and when cut in half lengthways gives......210x594mm. This is equivalent to two bits of A4 end to end, but you actually gain more than that because you gain the space taken by two margins. It does look a little ...

... i.e. the part of it that you would want on a mimic panel (group> save group), I will see what to suggest. The graphics, platforms and text stuff is easy -- you could have an entire Word file on the sketchboard if you wanted. cheers, Martin. I really hope that is all tongue in cheek.... I have gone down the full DCC route for a dozen reasons, not least of which is route setting and possible full computer control to run trains whilst I'm pottering around in the goods yard or engine shed. Conventional DC control as you describe, is what I had originally had and to go forwards, meant going back a couple of steps first. All the turnouts have Tortoise motors controlled by DCC decoders. With 60 turnouts over such a large area, the amount of wiring alone was huge, so decision made and no going back.... I want LED's as I can't see lines or pointers on rotary switches...and I want simple visual mapping where you ...

... say so myself. 14a is still a right hand point, is that why I've ended up with what looks to be an un wanted reverse curve on the line between 14a and 12b? Also, the switch for 12b must be longer as on the plan and in the photographs the stretcher bar is another 6 timbers to the right. Thank you for your help so far!
