... a minor problem which no one has experienced. Being a computer related rather than a railway related problem makes it even more of a minority problem. But here are some more details. Sorry about my typo; I had omitted the underscore in the file name. I have had no problems with any other Templot file type; .box, .bgs, etc. Nor are there any problems with printing other Templot files types, either directly from the Templot screen or indirectly. Also, there is no problem with printing from a previously exported .pdf file. In summary: The error occurs on 'export to scaled .pdf' The error is intermittent, which naturally makes things difficult. It does not occur on more than 1 in 4 export to .pdf. It occurs before the actual save (when Templot is generating the .pdf file??), ie when Templot prompts the user whether they wish to export each individual sheet, eg export a/1, export a/2, etc. If its relevant, the error(s) occurred when I ...

... intended -- it is a complex issue. Templot is now an old program. The black& white printing shares many of the settings for old dot-matrix impact printers (having an ink ribbon), and for old-style liquid pen plotters. The reason the colour and grey-shades print appears to have transparent cess is that it has a hatched infill instead of solid colour. Not all printers support hatched infill, especially older ones. The reason black& white printing uses solid white infill, blanking out any previously drawn detail, is that there is a risk with any other setting on older printers that they will fill it with solid black ink, wasting ink and likely cockling the paper on ink-jet printers. As I say, it is complex. At least with direct printing Templot can find out from the printer what it can do. For the PDF output there is no way of knowing the capabilities or type of printer which will be used to print the file. I'm minded to leave things as they are, pending ...

You might be able to do this by using switches with sharper curvature than those currently fitted, positioned closer to the acute crossings of the diamond. The downside to this is that it would involve a reduction in the radius of the slip road to what might prove to be an unacceptable degree. Alternatively, as you previously suggested, you could adopt a half-scissors formation in which no part of the 'slip road' intrudes within the diamond. posted: 17 Oct 2017 19:18 from: Bryan Hardwick John Palmer wrote: Martin will be able to tell you whether such is the case or not, but I wonder whether the program is preventing further shortening of some wing rails because any such further shortening would prevent the rails concerned from performing their intended function. I tend to create a separate template for timbers when things start to get complicated as otherwise I seem to spend all my time trying to work out which templates have which timbers on them! Not having rails does cause some glitches, like the template not being picked up in a group selection fence (which is where the tags come in very handy), but I'd not previously had an actual error! I suddenly decided that the scissors I've actually built didn't allow much room for shunting in one of the releases so I had to move one of the crossovers back a bit.
