It's been offline since Thursday 19th April. Hi Roy, It was hacked by a protest group who stole some members' email addresses. Andy York requested the software provider IPS to upgrade the software to close the loophole which allowed that to happen. In the upgrade process the server crashed and RMweb had to be restored from a backup by the hosting provider (Jim Hale in Ohio -- also our hosting provider here for Templot Club and also for the YMR forum). That process takes several hours because RMweb is such a massive web site. Jim has completed the restore, and Andy is now waiting for IPS to complete the software upgrade. ...

... using -- both for the diamonds and for mouse-action adjustment of check rails -- is now 5 years old since it was written, and it still hasn't made it into a Pug release. I'm beginning to despair that it ever will. I've written about this problem several times before, but I'm no nearer a solution. In recent months I have been able to spend almost no time at all on program development. All my Templot time has been spent on user support, not only on here but also on RMweb and elsewhere, and in emails. I recently turned 60, and I'm getting genuinely worried that the grey cells will fail on me before I can get everything done in Templot that I want to do. Already there are areas of the code which were crystal clear when I wrote them 20 years ago, but are now getting distinctly foggy. I'm worried that in 10 years time I will have forgotten how Templot works entirely! On top of that, my health is not being helped by hour after hour sat at the ...

I thought I would write a few notes about the background to 00-SF. Please feel free to copy this to RMweb or the 00-SF group if you wish. I myself have manufactured hundreds of 00-SF turnouts and sold them to very satisfied customers. They weren't actually called "00-SF" at the time, I just called them "00 extra fine". Some were on plain copper-clad timbering. Some were on my milled copper-laminate timbers with raised chairing effect. They all worked just fine as advertised. Thanks again Kind regards Andrew Hi Andrew No write-up yet, partly because I'm a slow builder! I get side tracked by building rolling stock. Some pics have appeared in Mixed Traffic, the 3mm Society newsletter, and on RMweb. At the moment I'm forcing myself to build the cassettes for the fiddle yard, which I've been avoiding for years. Once that's done I can retest the whole of the trackwork then it's a question of finishing off the scenery. The first board (essentially the second pic) just needs scenic details, there's more to do on the shorter second board. The buildings are scratch built, the stock mainly from kits.
