... , but I guess what I lose in P1, I gain in P2? I am thinking normal trains would be 2-5 coaches and only excursions would be longer, so having to squeeze the longer 6/7 coaches in would be rare. Also need to add the catch point to this plan( although don't know how). This is intended to be a town similar to scarborough with the addition of a port which resides at a lower level to the station due to topography. As such a short, tight, branchline connects the port with the goods facilities, which reside below the level of the passenger lines. The Branch being represented by the 'passing loop' in the pink goods lines. If I had the room( oh for another 8 feet!!!) the goods facilities would climb up to connect to the mainline. As such- single track 'feels' wrong? posted: 2 ...

... http://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html Go to search type in Whitby, you get three options, one of which is in Yorkshire. Then move the pin to the bit you want and the list comes up on the right. HTH Phil posted: 20 Oct 2014 01:57 from: DerekStuart Hello John Thanks for your further comments and advice. I was hoping to speak to Peter in person at the Peterborough show, but he was unwell and missed it (though I spoke to some incredibly helpful chaps from Scarborough and District MRC with their "Rumbling Bridge" layout- very good it was and they were very knowledgeable). I am going to order a sample of different parts from C&L and the exactoscale range- including BH75 and FB etc. I am going to order a point kit. To be awkward I have decided to steer clear of plastic sleepers and will use plywood. After one or two kits I hope to be proficient to make my own from scratch- though for time reasons I will likely keep on ...

... square brackets) British Railways Track (ed 3), Figure 40 also shows a figure of 4", but this is from the center line of the chair, which is backed up by a footnote to Table 13 "The 'A' Chair comes under the nose of the crossing, the centre of the chair being 4" from the blunt nose". The main body of the built up chair is 8" wide, with an 3" extension on the front. From the close up pictures I've got (either Scarborough Station, or Crewe Gresty Lane) of track, the front of the built up chair coincides with the front of the timber: 499_121147_100000000.png This works out at the blunt nose being 3" from the C/L of the A timber. Although there's an inch to play with (12" wide timber- 11" wide chair), so really it's between 2 and 3". For solid cast iron 'A' chairs (which I've never seen, the blunt nose is 2.5" from centre line of the keyed ...

... the tracks (sorry I can never remember the official name for it) is the one area I have not quite got right yet. Talking with my friend who is looking to build this, we decided against widening the formation through the station by 18 inches, on the premise that the curve was such a wide radius in 2FS that there should not be any problems with coaches or wagons 'clipping' Do you know, until I read your response and went back and looked again, I had not realised it was heading from Scarborough onto the Up Main either! I presume it must have run through, crossing to the Down Main, then using the scissor crossover to arrive in Platform 9(S). I don't know if this helps any more? http://www.flickr.com/photos/tibshelf/9527188627/ Mike posted: 15 May 2020 22:29 from: Mike Kynaston Hi Martin,Just wondered if you'd been able to get any further?
