The "control room" window has been renamed the "program panel". "Portrait" printing has been renamed "end-run". "Landscape" printing has been renamed "side-run". There are some notes about these meanings at print> page orientation/origin>? orientation- help menu item. In addition the "drawing pad" has been renamed the "workpad", to make clear that Templot is not a CAD-style drawing program. There is a new HTML-based viewer for the internal Help notes. At present the content is largely unchanged, but it will now be possible to include diagrams and screenshots in the notes in future. The printed output from the Help viewer is now much improved also. There is no workaround for this at present, but I will add an override to ignore the reported printer capabilities and just send it regardless. In the meantime, there are several alternatives to pdf995 which work in colour without problems. The free trial of pdfFactory is fully functional with no time limit, if you don't mind a logo overprint on each page: http://www.fineprint.com/products/pdffactory/ Likewise Win2PDF, which prints additional pages in the free trial mode: http://www.win2pdf.com/products/win2pdf.htm I tested several of these PDF generators a few years ago and came to the conclusion that Win2PDF produced the best match to Templot's native print output. But that was then -- no doubt they have all upgraded since then, and also we now have the excellent Foxit Reader as an alternative to Adobe for printing PDF files. The most important point is to remember to set page scaling to "None" when printing templates from PDF. ...

In fact it will now be the next pug but one, because I have committed to producing an interim pug as soon as possible with some basic user preferences saving. The main changes in the next full pug will be to the output options. In addition to the previous printed output there will be three new options: 1. output to PDF files, up to large sizes suitable for wide-format roll printing. 2. output to raster image files (GIF, PNG, BMP formats). 3. output to pages on the Templot Sketchbook. In addition any output can be in "diagram mode" or the existing "template mode". Diagram mode is a simplified output suitable for published track plans, signal box diagrams, control panels, and similar. None of these functions is yet ...

Typically they want to know whether it is or isn't possible, on which Mac versions, with which OS, additional software, etc., and lots of other Mac-speak which goes over my head. I know, because you've told me, that Templot runs fine on the latest Intel-based Macs. But as to which Mac versions and model numbers that refers to, what extra is needed or comes ready installed, how much it costs, and where you put the oil in, I haven't the faintest idea. So if one of you who is a Mac-using Temploteer would be willing to write a simple beginner's guide to getting Templot working on a Mac, to which I can refer folks, I would be very grateful. i.e. assuming you have just taken your first Mac out of its box and switched ...

... curve? edit: Notes removed as now redundant -- see the new dummy vehicle function below. regards, Martin. posted: 19 Feb 2012 12:24 from: Ian Allen Hi, taking your original question, I have purposely set the track centres on a new plan at 90mm in O gauge because of the issues you have highlighted. IIRC the Gauge O Guild standard is 82mm, so I have allowed for any clearance issues. There is one section though where the track centres have been moved out to 100mm for additional clearance due to the curvature(6' 1" minimum)and gradient profile. Using Martin's formula, and hoping my calculator and I worked this out correctly, track centre increase should be just over 2mm for a scale 6' radius curve. However on the current SR7mm layout there is one section where the track centres are 85mm and BR MkI coaches have been known to "catch" each other when passing. This will be rectified in due course.
