Whatever the case we are all indebted to your kind and altruistic conduct that has given us such a great tool for railway modelling. Regards. Trevor posted: 13 Nov 2019 21:47 from: Martin Wynne Today has been frustrating. I made good progress with the metafiles in the last few days, and now in addition to the metafile exports working, we have the metafile picture shapes working too. That's all stuff which I expected to be a big headache in Lazarus, and which has actually gone quite well. But now in testing things I have run into several other issues. When I released the first open-source versions 18 months ago, the intention was only the bus-proofing of Templot2. It took me a long time to get the Delphi5 code into a state which would actually compile in Lazarus. But that done I ...

Sorry I have not tidied up the sleepers, but been at the Watford Finescale show all day I want to use 7mm sleepers with code 75 bullhead rail and chairs to 00-SF gauge The problems I can see are that the sleeper ends are too short, and that as I have selected 0 gauge the rails are too thick. In addition what would the best track centers be, I have used 50mm which is a tad too narrow. Also how do you save the, non standard gauge All advice and suggestions would be greatly recieved Thanks John Phil Thanks the 9' switch makes it a bit smaller, but the look is good. Perhaps you could attach a screenshot? If you mean you want to add one or two additional timbers, use the real> shove timbers functions. Click the add bonus timber button. This adds an extra timber initially at the CTRL-1 position. You can then shove it along to wherever you need it. Repeat for any additional timbers. If you mean you want to create a turnout with closer timber spacing (as in USA practice for example), use the various options and settings in the real menu. Instead of the native Ubuntu styles which I was expecting the windows are rendered as for an ancient classic Windows version from about 1993! The font for the menus and window caption bars is so small that I can barely read it, whereas within Templot the fonts are all too large and widely spaced, and don't fit on the tabs and buttons. In addition there are several rendering glitches and errors: 2_172303_530000000.png Is this what other users are seeing? Or am I missing something in the settings? ... topic: 2271 Chair detail on curved templates posted: 26 Jul 2013 15:48 from: Martin Wynne A new range of Exactoscale turnout templates has been prepared by Len Newman with full REA bullhead chair detail. Some of these are available in P4 as free PDF downloads for members of the Scalefour Society, and other gauges will be available soon from C&L (it's not clear if these will also be available as downloads in addition to paper templates). Members of the Scalefour Society can find more info and the download links here: http://www.scalefour.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f =3 &t =2799 Why would a Templot user be interested in these? Especially as they are all dead straight? Well they make it possible to put full chairing detail under your matching Templot templates by loading them as picture shapes, and using the image wrapping function in Templot to produce curved fully chaired templates -- to any radius. The coloured rectangle is my attempt to sink the sleepers (ties) in some ballast. I added a few sample structures from the 3rd PlanIt libraries to create better perspective effects. The 3rd PlanIt file for this plan can be downloaded from http://templot.com/3pi/hopton_clee_and_trains.3pi It can be opened and the trains run in the free demo version of 3rd PlanIt. You won't be able to draw additional tracks from scratch in that version or save files, but you can add further trains and buildings from the supplied libraries. Or import your own Templot track plan by exporting it from Templot as a DXF file. ... to find a template with each custom spacing, copy it to the control and then adopt those settings for each slot in turn, which gets a bit tedious Hi Paul, They never have been saved. You don't necessarily need to adopt them into the list after loading, you can obtain the custom rail lengths and sleeper spacings directly from a background template to the control template: 2_141812_160000000.png Which is actually faster than accessing the list. They can't go in the .box file. Otherwise they would get over-written as you add additional .box files. The list was mainly intended as an aid while the custom settings are being defined. I recently added the custom gauge/scale settings to the program preferences, and these plain track settings (and the custom switches) could go there too. You can create multiple preferences files with a different set of settings if you wish. It's just such a massive programming effort to add them to the preferences, for the sake of completeness but so little real gain, that I don't always have the time to do ...

Inspite all the improvements/ additions Martin has added to Templot over the years this still seems to be the greatest stumbling block for many people, and I really don't see an easy way to resolve it as there are so many permutations of Tandem turnouts that automating the process (as has been done so spectacularly for irregular Diamonds) is not a realistic option.
