... topic: 895 Why will this not transition? posted: 11 Jul 2009 06:24 from: BruceNordstrand I am slowly working my way through my plan but this kind of thing is driving me nuts. In the attached file I am attempting to create a transition from the straight track to the curved one. Both sections of track are aligned on the background scan how I want them. Clicking on the straight section and selectiing transition causes Templot to tell me it can't do it- WHY? These are the kinds of things that are driving me nuts daily. I can see no difference in this than the videos I have watched in an attempt to grasp Templot yet it doesn't work. Any and all help appreciated... ... topic: 3425 Flangeway Clearances- 3 Way Tandem Turnout posted: 4 May 2019 04:06 from: Roger N Hello All, I have recently produced an EM-FS "shunting plank" design in Templot to learn track building and to test out stock before moving up to a layout. This design includes a LH/RH tandem turnout created using the "Make 3-way tandem turnout" tool which worked well except for a couple of issues regarding clearances. I am unsure how to best adjust the following in a prototypical manner. 1. How much adjustment can be made to the LH wing rail for the middle crossing to create a flangeway without affecting wheel movement through the crossing? 2. How much adjustment can be made to the associated middle crossing check rail on the RH turnout side, again without affecting wheel movement through the crossing? 3134_032304_090000000.png Additionally, I can identify the switch type for the LH turnout as B but do not know how to interpret the switch type for the RH turnout from the component data. In fact there is even one on the BBC site (try Googling "Hornsea, Railway"), which I think just about shows the actually 3 way in question. I've put together a rough plan in Templot which I think I like the look of and want to take further- but it requires a number of tweaks that I just don't have the expertise to do myself. I know this is a skill I can accumulate over a number of years, but I'd rather spend that if possible building track as a result of the templot plan. I was wondering, if anyone of this parish might be interested in making the following plan 'finished' (in the sense that the geometry works, the timbers are in the right positions, etc.), for a payment to a worthy charity (macmillan, a locomotive trust/heritage railway, the royal british legion, etc.)?
