The diamond crossing is a switched diamond- usually used when the angle of the "K" crossing starts getting too large which can cause flanges to take the wrong road. It looks as though the angle of the "K" crossing in the formation looks OK for a fixed diamond, but I wonder if the comparative simplicity of the switched diamond around the "K" crossing might not have been an advantage in this formation. When you have a whole group of templates and realise you have a misalignment or need to amend one piece of track within the group, you bring the template to the control, make the changes and then save, but in doing so, you lose the group marker colour for that piece of track. That means going back to group all templates and selecting the market colour for the group all over again. Am I missing something, or is there a way that the piece of track you have amended can keep it's original marker colour once you save it.
